Lesbians Launch Hate Campaign Against Bridal Shop Owner (forced to close)

Same sex marriageCommentary by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS

The owner of a bridal shop in Pennsylvania has been forced to close her doors after a lesbian couple launched a social-media bullying campaign in retaliation for the owner’s refusal to service their same-sex wedding.

Breitbart is reporting that Victoria Miller, owner of the W.W. Bridal Boutique in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, said she has had to shutter her bridal shop after a pair of “unidentified” lesbians began attacking her for refusing to sell them wedding gowns.

“We feel we have to answer to God for what we do,” Miller said, according to the New York Daily News. “And providing those two girls dresses for a sanctified marriage would break God’s law.”

The two lesbians then turned to Facebook to launch a campaign of hate against Miller which resulted in having her shop downgraded to one-star reviews and eventually to shuttering it completely. Her shop’s website has gone dark and the status of her shop is listed on Facebook as being “permanently closed.”

In addition, the Bloomsburg Town Council met last night to discuss the incident and decide whether or not to propose a new law that will ban businesses from refusing to serve LGBT customers. If they do so, it will give the lesbian couple grounds upon which to sue Miller.

As a result, Miller has hired an attorney to defend her in the event a lawsuit is filed.

“Obviously, W.W. Bridal Boutique isn’t the only wedding dress shop in town,” writes Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.

“These women could have easily taken their business elsewhere — but chose to retaliate instead. That’s because, at its core, this isn’t about accommodation. It’s about forced acceptance. When religious liberty clashes with homosexuality — as it has from bakeries to flower shops — the story lines are all the same: conform or be punished.”

Perkins goes on to cite the misuse of Scripture being used by proponents of same-sex marriage who wrote on Miller’s Facebook page that “We are taught to love our neighbor regardless.”

“Unfortunately, culturally intoxicated believers like this one have a misguided (and convenient) view of Christ’s calling,” Perkins writes. “Real love doesn’t mean you facilitate people’s desires that are both harmful to them and society. It means speaking the truth in love.”

Even though a recent National Health Interview Survey found that a mere 1.6 percent of respondents in a large survey reported being gay or lesbian, this tiny minority has been far too successful in re-writing American law to suit their beliefs – while trampling upon everyone else’s.

So...where’s that Bully Legislation or Hate Crime Legislation now? Who does it serve?

Really?

Ex post facto law?

You can't sue for what was legal before the law was passed that made it illegal.

The American ISIS. Given enough time, it will become “convert or die.”

You have a good point.

Years ago I used to see signs in many businesses that stated they have the right to refuse service to anyone.

I don’t know how to end this.....can a business be by appt only?....can it select what groups it will serve?....such as “Conservative Jews” or “traditional Catholics” only?

Here's a hint: these are all corporate laws.

I don`t love those type of people but I guess if they was needing food or water I would give it to them which is what Jesus met by love your enemy.

I doubt if any of them are Muslim any more than any of them are Christian.

It appears that you can practice any religion you want as long as you keep it to yourself. Totally.

Homosexuals have a lot in common with the Islamists in Iraq. Conform to our beliefs or we will kill you/your business. Both are unacceptable in a free society.

And the number who want to “marry” is smaller still.

I’ve heard of people who posted one bad review of a business on the Internet and were sued. Can’t this bridal shop owner sue these lesbian b****es for all the negative things they posted on Facebook? Clearly their posts ruined her business. Instead of waiting for them to possibly sue her, maybe she should make the first move.

I have read story after story about homosexuals who had been “together” for decades. Then this “marriage” thing came out and they jumped right on it. Some of them were divorced in six months or less. Some could not even get a divorce because they had moved to a state that did not have gay marriage to start with.
What do you expect on a relationship built on lust?

I don't read about homosexuals. Why would I? They are a very TINY (.5-1.5% of the population) group of aberrant individuals. What they do is something I don't care about and don't care to know about. I don't begrudge them anything. Their sins are in God's hands, where they belong.

As for relationships built on lust--I don't care about those either. TOO many people, heterosexual or not, build relationships on lust...or money or whatever. ALL those relationships are doomed to fail. I don't care to read about those either. THOSE sinful relationships are in God's hands too.

I spend my time reading books that I enjoy.
I do read the FREE REPUBLIC stuff. THAT is far and away more interesting. Life is too short to read depressing, nasty stuff.
I trust in God completely and read HIS works.

But you won’t see these two carpet munchers suing a halal place for not serving pork.

The mark. It is utter rejection of truth in exchange for lies. In this case, biological reality is what got the heave-ho.

It is an absolute rebellion to the Creator, who created man and woman to be one flesh. Do these depraved people also attempt to assemble Legos back-to-back?

“I don’t read about homosexuals. Why would I? They are a very TINY “

Stories like this is why you should read. The tiny part of or society is trying to tell us what we should think, feel or do in everything including our religion or religious beliefs. It’s not just them saying “I disagree” they are nazis about it.

I don’t care what they do in the privacy of their own bathroom. I do care when they try to do in my church’s bathroom if you catch my drift.

I don’t want to see it. I don’t want it shoved in my face. I don’t want agendas forced on me. These people not only want to force it on you but want you to applaud it.

People have been telling me for eons about how I should think and live. Why would I listen to them? I didn't before and I don't now. It doesn't bother me anymore because I stay close to God, family and friends. THEY have my best interests at heart.

People don't ever learn by having propaganda shoved down their throat. They learn by example.

Have YOUR opinions ever been changed for the better by having screed upon screed shoved down your throat? I doubt it. Let people screed. You have neither to read it, hear it or absorb it in any way.

You know where your heart is. Store up treasures in heaven by staying close to God. Live your life that way that Jesus would want you to. Leave the screeds to Satan, his followers and all those who CHOOSE to listen to the evil one. You KNOW where you peace lies. Relax and revel in His Peace.

You KNOW all this, don't you?
God bless you and yours.
