I am coming up on my first year as an ordained minister in a continuing Anglican church, and I have noticed that participating on political forums (even when the topic is religious) I find that my opinions and postings more often than not generate more hatred than anything else. Among the things I often hear are that the laity are the real priests and that I am a Pharisee, that my vocation disqualifies me from offering an opinion on anything Christian because I am too narrow minded, and (my personal favorite) because I look too Catholic I must be a child molester.
Are these people really Christians?
Bad Logic...
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
I’ve noticed...
The virus is SPREADING!
Remember; both sides: souls are dying and going to Hell while we are upping the count of angels on the head of a pin here.
true...
I think the Trinity and the Christological doctrines are more that just nuts. Not exactly the type of thing one stumbles upon traipsing through the forest.
Yes.
I presented a Catholic Apologetic in response to attack.
Sourcing is irrelevant.
You seem to think I owe you something.
I don’t.
Goodbye.
“I think you are a liar and I welcome you to prove me wrong.”
Well, you have just proven me right (and let me explain once again) because I said I am often attacked by Protestant laity only to be attacked by Protestant laity in this thread.
Way to go.
“Do you agree that the poster labeling being called a child molester as his personal favorite criticism is a little perverse?)”
Project much? It’s my personal favorite because it is so preposterous as to be laughable.
“Logic would tell ANYONE that they then ran to YOUR loving, non-judgemental church; right??”
No, they spend years and perhaps the rest of their lives talking about how much they hate Christianity in places like this.
Im sure to Catholics it is. Appealing to scripture which we all agree is the assuredly infallible words of God as opposed to trusting on the supposedly passed down words of fallible man isnt scary to me.
We have all heard of or experienced the game people play when they pass a story from person to person and see how long before that story doesnt even resemble the story first told. We laugh at how different the story is after it has passed through several tellings of it. Yet thats what Catholics trust for their very eternal lives. In every court room it is considered hearsay if its second hand information and considered unreliable. Yet Catholics trust in hearsay with their very soul. Yet they call trusting solely in the infallible words of Gods scary.
Post 513 is really gonna upset the pope cart! That’s good research you’ve done there.
I refer you to post 513 by Elsie for some excellent examples.
You insult me but don’t answer my very simple question. You said you often get told by protestants that you look like a child molester. I think you are lying in an attempt to make a false point. You can easily prove me wrong by just giving the details of said incidents over, say, the last two weeks. It happens often so it should be no problem. Another priest commented that it happened to him just 3 times over 35 years. Yet it has happened often to you over just one year. How about some details of the people that most recently insulted you. What were the dates? What they said. And how you knew that they were protestant.
THIS Protestant prefers to post official writing from the RCC and let the chips fall where they may.
Sometimes I get sarcastic, bullheaded, amusing and/or satirical: not necessarily in that order.
Yes, The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ is the True Presence in the Eucharist.
Glad to see that you agree.
Dang!
Then you guys better get to them FIRST!
Not really...
Hasn't someone posted the meaning of plagiarism in this thread already?
Someone else posted a MUCH long edition of this on FR; and I just glommed on to the relevant parts about Peter the Pope.
Wearing a trench coat near a school yard WOULD tend to get a stereo-typical conditioned response from onlookers...
(This REQUIRES him to post a picture so we can ALL judge by outward appearances...)
