I am coming up on my first year as an ordained minister in a continuing Anglican church, and I have noticed that participating on political forums (even when the topic is religious) I find that my opinions and postings more often than not generate more hatred than anything else. Among the things I often hear are that the laity are the real priests and that I am a Pharisee, that my vocation disqualifies me from offering an opinion on anything Christian because I am too narrow minded, and (my personal favorite) because I look too Catholic I must be a child molester.
Are these people really Christians?
“Thus you have rendered your own responses as , nonsensical irrelevancy, and unfit for meaningful exchange, and provided more evidence why one should not be a RC.”
Well, you do have the ability to declare victory at the drop of a hat, in conflicts in which only you are participating.
How is that hypocritical? The development of doctrine is not an exercise in equivalency where one can say, "what's good for the goose..." This understanding is nothing but a modern invention.
If it works for the eucharist, the papacy, the Trinity, and a whole host of other doctrines, then its inconsistent and hypocritical to disallow doctrines yall dont like, just because you dont like them.
It's not about liking. It's about Truth. This is just another example of the protestant penchant to substitute truth for preference. There is but one authority charged with defining doctrine and that's the Catholic Church. No other individual or organization has that authority.
But that's the crux of the matter. If one accepts doctrines that have been developed from Scripture and Tradition then they must accept the material sufficiency of scripture and yield to the traditional authority that formally defined them.
In a word, no .
"Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob." (Isaiah 41:21)
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord.." (Isaiah 1:18)
That is simply more avoidance. My comment about posting of a papal polemic without attribution to the source, which you failed to express fault for, was merely one sentence out of an over 800 word response by me, that is indeed relevant to this discussion.
But which you ignored and instead majored on defending your plagiarism.
pla·gia·rism: an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author (emp. mine) http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/plagiarism
pla·gia·rize: : to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source. - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plagiarize
And while as an RC you may not see an attempt to take credit for the work of another, the fact is that unless otherwise attributed, then it is assumed to be that of the poster.
And i do not even see a matter of simply reiteration of some ideas as an issue, but this was blatant pasting of over 400 words from another source without any indication that it was even a copy paste job, except by discerning a contrast btwn the the normal style and ability seen from the poster.
Nor am i the one that made this The Issue, but my comment about posting of a papal polemic without attribution to the source was merely one sentence out of an over 800 word response, which was ignored in any subsequent responses.
Perhaps you owe Larry an apology
Insolence. Rather, that this is what both of you owe.
Then I suggest a long look in the mirror.
Are we to now post references to commonly used words? Besides what you emphasized imputes motive.
And while as an RC you may not see an attempt to take credit for the work of another, the fact is that unless otherwise attributed, then it is assumed to be that of the poster.
My being an "RC" has nothing to do with it. Taken to its logical conclusion I suppose plagiarism is in the eye of the beholder, particularly based on one's confession of faith. Besides it's an assumption on your part.
Nor am i the one that made this The Issue, but my comment about posting of a papal polemic without attribution to the source was merely one sentence out of an over 800 word response, which was ignored in any subsequent responses.
You made it an issue when you imputed a motive to deceive on the part of another poster. Is that not what plagiarism is? Deception? Or must I reference a definition that uses that word? As an aside, by what authority do you appeal that demands that your particular brand of polemic merits a response?
Insolence. Rather, that this is what both of you owe.

Nothing rude or impolite about my response. I trust this meets your level of scholarship, however.

WOW!
It appears to be a quick read...
It’s GOOD that GOD is with us through all of our trials: whether Catholic or Protestant.

Good Morning Elsie. I think we can both agree on that. Amen.

Heh heh heh...
I'm reminded of a Dennis Miller skit about President Bush & Iraq: "At least he rolled the dice. And there can be no second guesser unless there's a first guesser.
