Why? So Legatus can jumped down into the heretical rabbit hole of modalism and earth age/christian identity nonsense?

Ah, another modern thinker. People who don't read and absorb the Bible make comments like this. God still has you alive, so thank Him for the opportunity that you may yet learn from His word. This is bitter water.

I was writing to the Religion Moderator. I had already sent him a private message with the names. He/She knew what I was talking about.

Thanks for bumping the reminder, though.

God bless.

On the contrary I consider myself a very old thinker. As I've said there was a time when western civilization knew what was true and ordered their lives accordingly. Unfortunately, with the modern invention of protestantism and the ensuing modern philosophical movements, civilization no longer ordered itself along the lines of what was true, but what was preferred.

Unfortunately, what you think means nothing to God who told you how it was, how it is, and how it WILL be.

Yeah, the world just fell apart with the Protestant Reformation.

The Catholic church was responsible for so much progress during the Dark Ages and the Inquisition.

Oh, wait a minute.......

The gospel according to Murray circa 1985 or whenever. Yeah...I'm the modern thinker full of novelties.

I want to make sure that there is no misunderstanding. I do NOT consider everyone that asks questions to be "bigots." There are protestants that come here and ask questions that are neither anti-Catholic or bigots. Sadly on these threads there is a very vocal minority that are both. When I speak of anti-Catholic bigots that is referring to a certain select group of less than ten individuals.

More than likely, you save the label of "bigot" for those who won't ACCEPT your answer to their questions and who dispute false Roman Catholic dogmas with the Holy Spirit inspired Scriptures.

Yes it was:

1.) University system

2.) Hospital system

3.) Patron of the Arts and Sciences

4.) Preserved the Scriptures

5.) Defeated the Muslim horde

It's unfortunate that a protestant will reject the Oliver Stone approach to history when it comes to the United States but then embrace it wholeheartedly without exception when it comes to the Church.

Brainwashed. It's a sad state of affairs.

It certainly is. God warns us over and over again about it.

Yeah, none of that stuff ever existed before Catholicism came along.

Nobody ever thought of that before.

Re: the muslim horde.....

It's really too bad they didn't finish the job.

And now Catholicism is turning right around and embracing the muslim horde.

Here.

YOUR pope kissing the koran. Fits right in with YOUR Catechism of the Catholic church.

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

Every time I see Catholics post all this stuff that the world is supposed to be grateful for what they did, I cannot but help to think of the Cold War days when everything the US did, the Soviets claimed to have done first.

The world doesn’t *owe* Catholicism diddly.

Others had medical care and institutes of higher learning before the Catholic church came along, and GOD preserved HIS Scripture and is more than capable of doing it without the help of the Catholic church.

Taking credit for the work of God and the RCC taking the glory for itself that is due Him, is a dangerous road to trod. He will share His glory with no other.

Is that to say you would be in favor of the total eradication of the Islamic heresy? No matter what it took?

YOUR pope kissing the koran. Fits right in with YOUR Catechism of the Catholic church.

I wonder. Have you ever bothered to read footnote #330 at the end of CCC#841?

DOGMATIC CONSTITUTION ON THE CHURCH LUMEN GENTIUM SOLEMNLY PROMULGATED BY HIS HOLINESS POPE PAUL VI ON NOVEMBER 21, 1964

16. Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God.(18*) In the first place we must recall the people to whom the testament and the promises were given and from whom Christ was born according to the flesh.(125) On account of their fathers this people remains most dear to God, for God does not repent of the gifts He makes nor of the calls He issues.(126) But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Muslims, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind. Nor is God far distant from those who in shadows and images seek the unknown God, for it is He who gives to all men life and breath and all things,(127) and as Saviour wills that all men be saved.(128) Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.(19*) Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life. Whatever good or truth is found amongst them is looked upon by the Church as a preparation for the Gospel.(20*) She knows that it is given by Him who enlightens all men so that they may finally have life. But often men, deceived by the Evil One, have become vain in their reasonings and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, serving the creature rather than the Creator.(129) Or some there are who, living and dying in this world without God, are exposed to final despair. Wherefore to promote the glory of God and procure the salvation of all of these, and mindful of the command of the Lord, "Preach the Gospel to every creature",(130) the Church fosters the missions with care and attention.

Part of the problem is that what a "bigot" is sees varying judgments as to what it is and when someone is. It is too much a recourse of liberals to be taken seriously.

And once again for the record Verga is a 100% USDA approved MALE. His wife Vergette is a 100% USDA approved FEMALE.

That is refreshing, except USDA approved may soon require sanction of something quite different.

The thing is that what the Church says doesn’t mean diddy compared to what God says. We will never trust man.
