Every time I see Catholics post all this stuff that the world is supposed to be grateful for what they did, I cannot but help to think of the Cold War days when everything the US did, the Soviets claimed to have done first.

The world doesn’t *owe* Catholicism diddly.

Others had medical care and institutes of higher learning before the Catholic church came along, and GOD preserved HIS Scripture and is more than capable of doing it without the help of the Catholic church.

Taking credit for the work of God and the RCC taking the glory for itself that is due Him, is a dangerous road to trod. He will share His glory with no other.

Anyone here disagree with that?

It owes the Church their existence, free of the caliphate. That's what the world owes it. In much the same manner we would say, if not for the US we'd all be speaking German. Let us not show ingratitude to those who came before us and sacrified their life for our civilization.

Yes. God preserved His Scripture through the Roman Catholic Church as He intended. Just as He intended that they be responsible for determining the Canon of Scripture and weeding out false gospels.

The RCC is God's work. Catholics take nothing away from God. This was His plan.
