It's not at all like saying that! Trying to proselytize Christians from one church to another based on the idea that they can't possibly BE Christians, is the point DManA is making. That is the presumption the author of this article is also making - that ONLY the Roman Catholic church can be the place for salvation in Christ and getting "everything" else right, even in the face of your OWN catechism which acknowledges differently. It is insulting to post threads like this that intentionally provoke non-Catholics. It makes me question the faith of those who constantly do so.
Amen.
“Trying to proselytize Christians from one church to another based on the idea that they can’t possibly BE Christians, is the point DManA is making.”
But since no Catholic here - that I know of - and certainly not me is actually making the claim that you “can’t possibly BE Christians” then DManA is wrong. And, if he, and possibly you, could be so wrong about something that is so obviously NOT BEING SAID why would I agree with your understanding of any issue?

It’s not a presumption to believe that Christ’s salvation of us is mediated through the Catholic Church. That is the ancient teaching. Christ only established one Church and it isn’t your sect. Are you insulted by that? I bet you are, but I don’t say it to insult you. It’s just true. Now, have you forgotten what we have taught you many times: that God is merciful and we believe non-Catholics can be saved? That isn’t a reason to not be in the Church, but it is a necessary truth to fully understand the teaching on salvation. Be fair. If you’re going to attack something at least attack what it actually is.

1) Prove it is being done to “intentionally provoke non-Catholics”. Can you?
2) Don’t Protestant anti-Catholics then “intentionally provoke Catholics” here as well?
3) When Jesus condemned the Pharisees was He simply being “intentionally provoking” or did He actually have a point?
not true at all...the Catholic Church is the only COMPLETE Christian church...the various denominations began to deny certain Christian beliefs. The denial of Christian truths is what differentiates Catholics and Protestants. For example...Christ said "whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven, whose sins you shall retain, they are retained" and yet Protestantism denies the Sacrament of Penance.....Christ said "take this and eat of it...This is My Body" and yet protestants deny the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It is usually not a difference in beliefs that separate us, it is the denials of what the bible teaches that do so.
