Doubling down. What a surprise.
Jesus founded the Church to save us with. If you won’t accept the life jacket, you are sinking. The world is on a bad course because of rejecting the Church.
>>Vlad Nope. And I think you know thats the case too
>>Vlad from post # 134 Please show me where I ever claimed there was a universally accepted infallible source of what the apostles taught other than scripture.
>>Vlad No, since I didnt do the former, I could not have done the latter. And there is no way - by my own admission (since none was made) nor by default - to prove sola scriptura.
>>Vlad - Wow. Yet another failure on your part. And worse than that. You actually make claims that I did something I never did.
See paragraph 3. Your credibility is nonexistent.
“Because clearly, by everything you have posted here, you can not and never will be able to admit that a *Protestant* can be right about anything”
Your posts are getting downright childish. So now you refuse to apologize for being absolutely wrong on Roe v. Wade and refuse to even acknowledge that protestants gave this country abortion on demand.......not Catholics.
That pope is looking right into the eyes of the statue like he really sees something...That he’s really communicating with that statue...
LOL!!!!
No he didn't...Can't you be honest about what the scripture really says??? Paul told the Christians 2000 years ago to hold fast to the traditions that HE passed down to THEM...Those traditions turned into written scripture...
“Doubling down. What a surprise.”
I’m siding with the truth. There’s no surprise there. You’re not. There’s no surprise there either.
Peter, the guy that Catholics claim is their first pope, has this to say.
Acts 4:11-12 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
And Jesus says this.....
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Go ahead and trust a church. I'll keep trusting Jesus.
But you can't say you weren't warned. Follow man and you're doomed. Follow Jesus and you HAVE eternal life.
Yeah........
So where are the written instructions they left on how to organize it, run it, elect successors, etc?
Your pope says Catholics don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ...Why would we or you doubt him???
Do you have any proof she died before she was assumed into Heaven?
I'm choosing not to be Catholic. You're taking my beliefs about the Church personally, mocking my reasons, and insulting me.
Of course in doing so you're supporting a lot of my reasons for not wanting to be like you. But I don't expect you to get that level of nuance. Nor do you understand that people who don't want to be Catholic don't in fact, diminish your personal faith. But you don't get that level of nuance, either.
I imagine you sitting at night guzzling wine out of a jewel-encrusted gold cup, the wind howling outside and shut off by heavy draperies, your thick velvet coat pulled up around your neck, while you mutter "heretics, damned heretics" as you slam the point of your dagger again and again into the table.
To my Protestant brothers and sisters:It's time to come back to Mother Church. We want you, we need you, we love you.
Yup, feel it. I feel the love daily.
Anyways, fixed the problems yet?
Didn't think so. Oh, well, some other century.
Jesus was setting a precedent by appealing to the written word of God for the authority of what He stated in disputing Satan's twisting of Scripture. The writings that make up the New Testament of sacred Scripture are just as Divinely-inspired and, as such, are the authority for our rule of faith. A majority of the Early Church Fathers defended their doctrines by proving them BY Scripture - they were following the same precedent Jesus set.
The Pharisees were supposed to be teachers of the law of Moses and, as long as they were sticking to God's revealed word, they were to be obeyed. But Jesus showed us ANOTHER precedent, that of holding our religious leaders to the sole source of Divine truth - the revelation from God, the Scriptures. When the Jewish religious leaders strayed from the truth of God's word and usurped its authority with their own "interpretations", traditions and rituals, Jesus condemned them and accused them of destroying, nullifying and violating the authority of God's word (Mark 7:13; Matt. 15:3; Mark 7:9; Matt. 15:6). THAT is what we mean by sola Scriptura and is why Christians must always follow God's word OVER the traditions of men.
Why are you linking to another thread???
Yeah right, could have fooled me.
God is omnipresent, omniscient and does not change. This means he sees everything, knows everything and has determined from the foundation of the world what He will do. He is not moved by anyone because of their status as all mankind is shut up under sin as the Apostle Paul says "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God".
Therefore, Mary is very right to call Him "God my Savior" because He saved her from her sins.
Mary being thoroughly Jewish would not like the statues of her and would say to everyone to worship God alone and that only He can hear and answer the prayers of folks like us.
yeah...you do. When you start making your own rules and interpreting thing according to your own views...you are, indeed, in bi trouble... Christ told us how to do it and you decide that you know better.........
