Heavenly Father
Over seventy years ago, President Franklin Roosevelt expressed hope for a better world even as the world convulsed in the intense battles of World War Two. And on Flag Day, may we remember all who exemplify mans spirit - that suffers and endures so hugely for a goal beyond his own brief span.
Yet, there is no peace for the wicked, and no hope for peace without the Prince of Peace reigning in our hearts. Give us a spirit of repentance and dependence on You, Father. May Your Spirit fill us and equip us to fight the mortal enemy of our souls, who has spiritual strongholds in high places of our country and the world.
May all of Gods people be united in Your Spirit. For only You, Father, can bring forth justice and righteousness, freedom and security, an equal opportunity - all these things yearned for in FDRs Flag Day prayer.
Bless all Your servants, home and aboard, who put themselves in harms way to serve and protect us and keep us safe. Also, bless the families of those who serve, who also sacrifice. And bless our country though so undeserving by Your infinite grace and mercy.
In Jesus precious Name,
Amen
Amen.
It’s my fervent prayer every night before I go to sleep that the dear Lord bless us and watch over us, that he protects those true, brave men and women who are the boots on the ground of America, who are fighting for us and this country.
