The Arabs KNEW of the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians. The words of the Koran, laced with Biblical words, were recited in a trance by Mohammad.
The Arabs had no writing of their own and the Arabic alphabet was developed JUST for the Koran.
My husband was given a Koran by an Arab contractor who showed his gratitude by giving him a Koran. Bribery, which was big over there, was not allowed, no gifts, nothing. But the Koran was considered an acceptable gift.
My husband has passed but I still have the Koran. Naturally, it's green.
