Can someone explain this from the Catechism?
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ^ | 05-31-14 | vanity

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

“I can profess to be a housecat, but that doesn’t make me one. Muslims deny the Trinity, deny that God has a Son, and deny the Crucifixion. The Koran says that if you believe Jesus is the Son of God, you do not recognize the true God.”

No kidding! Again, try reading the entire section. Note the HEADING:

The Church and non-Christians

REPEAT:

The Church and non-Christians

839 “Those who have not yet received the Gospel are related to the People of God in various ways.”325

The relationship of the Church with the Jewish People. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People,326 “the first to hear the Word of God.”327 The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God’s revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews “belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ”,328 “for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.”329

840 And when one considers the future, God’s People of the Old Covenant and the new People of God tend towards similar goals: expectation of the coming (or the return) of the Messiah. But one awaits the return of the Messiah who died and rose from the dead and is recognized as Lord and Son of God; the other awaits the coming of a Messiah, whose features remain hidden till the end of time; and the latter waiting is accompanied by the drama of not knowing or of misunderstanding Christ Jesus.

841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”330

842 The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race:

All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . .331

843 The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as “a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.”332

844 In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them:

Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator. Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333

845 To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.

There in no way on earth or in heaven that Islamics can be construed to worship the true God.

Can they not worship the true God falsely?

Muslims do know of Jesus yet choose to reject Him.

In Romans 1, Paul clearly explains that the pagan world “knew God” but instead suppressed the truth and refused to worship Him. Choice: “they gave themselves over...” Consequence: “Therefore He gave them over...”

God’s eternal qualities and invisible nature have been made plain to all men through what has been made, “therefore they are without excuse”.

Philosophy is for deluded, high-minded people who do not believe in God’s one and only Son. I won’t be quitting my day job (courier), lol!

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.”—Matt. 11:25

Ohhh please....Muslims alot of them live in Muslim nations, some with sharia law, where christians are a basically a non-evangelizing minority.

But your still amazing!

Some muslims, some christians(esp. nowadays),some budhists, some of everyone who listens to God , God speaks to all listening to hear , will go to heaven.

Those who have consciously rejected Christ and his Church will not.

That's gonna be a surprise to Justin Martyr, Augustine, Aquinas, Luther, Calvin,Kierkegaard, and so forth.

you strike me as one who knows the basics of your faith, the tenets , sayings and slogans, but not very deep beyond that. Which makes you a good finger wagger when needed. One of the troops, not an officer.

I don't think God's army works that way. I REALLY think avenir is wrong about philosophy 'n stuff. But I think Paul is clear that there are diversities of gifts. So maybe avenir could teach me things about courage or purity or modesty that I sorely need to learn.

(Except, of course, humility. I'm really good at humility. NOBODY can teach me ANYTHING about humility. I'm the best!)

But, well, I do my thing and offer it to God and for the kingdom, and maybe a few times the Holy Spirit has used my words for tinder when he lit a fire in somebody's heart. But I'm really just a grunt on one front of the battle, and I don't know who's what in the other sectors.

I’m glad to be one of the troops. Paul was a highly intelligent man who yet thrilled when God said, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

Your assessment of me is based on snippets of replies on an Internet forum, hardly a Summa Theologica of source material, lol!

"Can they not worship the true God falsely?"

Hmmm....

I believe so. However, since the god they worship is so far removed from I Am, I think they're earnestly worshiping a false god.

Wow! you wrote that?
Your depth of ignorance is greater than I once believed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustine_of_Hippo
Saint Augustine was an early Christian theologian and philosopher[5] whose writings were very influential in the development of Western Christianity and Western philosophy.

All protestant seminaries include St. Augustine in their teachings and confer Bachelor’s and/or Masters degrees before they go on to Churches.

You must be going to one of those churches where
the Pastor has to know the bible(on his own) and have taken a 3 month certificate course for the rest. Or quite plainly your mouth/writing is just a loud trumpet piece not backed up with any knowledge beyond bible basics or knowledge about the world, the Christian world, the muslim world, the world at large.

You need to spend time in a library with great books, world topics and news before you try to express your opinion to everyone.

Your unwonderfully amazing and I’m done with you.

Yes, I read the heading the first time. Non-Christians...those who haven’t received the Gospel.

That has nothing to do with the fact that #841 is in error:
“and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”

That is simply not the case.

Like I said ... a good finger wagger.
We need good moral finger waggers.
eveyone should be a finger wagger, but some cannot nor should not reach beyond.

Try reading things in context.

I admire your optimism. 8-)

Anyway, your post is worth repeating.

His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . .331

So, IOW, Mohammedans share the same God, although their understanding of God is imperfect. They don't understand the Trinity, although they share our belief that God is One. They profess belief in Abraham, and believe in a Final Judgement.
