"2000 years"? It's been the case for longer than 2000 years. It's always been unjust, prima facie, to judge things that you cannot know. That would include a persons interior disposition (unless they tell you), and a soul's ultimate destination (unless God reveals it an in extraordinary way, e.g. a miracle.)
