Las Vegas, Nev., Apr 18, 2014 / 02:03 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Several hundred delegates of the Nevada Republican Party approved a party platform Saturday that lacks a pro-life plank and drops support for the definition of marriage as a union of one man and one woman.
Nevada State Party Chairman Michael McDonald told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he thought the party platform was about inclusion, not exclusion.
This is where the party is going.
Fewer than half of the original 520 party delegates were present to vote to approve the platform the evening of April 12 at the partys annual convention, held at South Point Casino-Hotel in Las Vegas.
The platform vote took place long after the conventions scheduled 9 a.m. start time, and the modified platform had been proposed by a committee, according to the Review-Journal.
The members of the platform committee said they had decided not to deal with the removed issues in 2014 because the U.S. Supreme Court and other courts had made decisions on them.

If they’re not pro-life, they’re pro-death just like the RATS are.
I’m not ready to commit but events like this make me more and more interested in the Constitution Party.
Are they mounting any serious challenges to RINOs in this year’s midterms? Do they have a plan to make more of an impact in 2016?
I think Rand Paul is forgetting WHO invented marriage in the first place. This country is getting downright creepy!
The title of thread should be “Democrats and Republicans Merge into One Party in Nevada”.
Christie, Romney, JEB Bush, Boehner, Cantor, Ann Coulter, and the rest of the RINOs will be singing the praises of the Nevada GOP.
Bill O’Reilly will say it’s the GOP of the future and if the National GOP wants to win another election they had been see the writing on the wall. Blah, blah, blah.
Rand Paul, as hard as he tries to keep it hidden, is a closeted democrat.
Paul is becoming unraveled, and anyone who tries to look up his positions during the last few years, will come back seeing how incoherent and contradictory he is from period to period.
We saw this with Romney, Paul desperately wants in, but we don’t know why.
He’s a clone of the old man when it comes to social issues. And just as much of an isolationist but he tries to hide his real views.
VERY disappointing.

Well, that fits in with Nevada's whole image, doesn't it?
Gambling and prostitution. How absolutely charming.
Wouldn't YOU want your daughter and/or son involved in those?
What a wonderful, fruitful, Christian and worthwhile way Nevada plans for the future of their children, innit?
Ron Paul sure was. I don’t know about his son.
Catholic ping!
Probably all for saving desert turtles by any means necessary, though.
You know, defending the rights of the helpless and such.
I am my own party.
GOP is getting back to its roots - making money for Wall Street. Got to find another wedge issue to drum up votes.
