Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
- Deut 4:2

NIV 1 Corinthians 4:6

Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit,
so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written."
Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

Be prepared for the comeback:

"But ALL of our added traditions have been written down!

“Do not go beyond what is written.”

Satan is really having a field day slipping errors into new “translations.”

The passage correctly reads, “But these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollo, for your sakes: that in us you may learn that one be not puffed up against the other for another, above that which is written.”

Get a correct translation.
