The LORD Jesus Christ speaking...

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

This, then, is how you should pray: “’Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors....” Matthew 6:6-12

Did you see that ???

Jesus tells us to ask God for forgiveness for our sins in private..

“when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. ....This, then, is how you should pray:..forgive us our debts.” Matthew 6, 9, 12

James 5:16
English Standard Version (ESV)

16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

from the Didache:
But every Lord’s day gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure.

confessing your sins to God is a protestant twisting of Scripture
