Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

For many people, this is the only music from Handel's Messiah with which they are familiar. It is a Magnificent Chorus, and is based on three Verses From The Book of Revelation.

It depicts a Scene in Heaven, when the 24 "Elders" (Presumably the 12 Hebrew Patriarchs and The 12 Apostles), Fall on their Faces and cast off their crowns in Worship Before Almighty God.

Artists and Musicians have attempted to depict this Scene for Centuries, and, of course, always fall short of what the reality must be. Today's thread will touch on some of that Art, and I hope you are encouraged and delighted by it!

I did not plan to have this show up on Happy Valentine's Day, it just happened. What a great song to celebrate LOVE!
