Regardless of these actions which go against the teachings of the Church, you believe they are still Catholics.
I don't understand that thinking. While some would like to call themselves Catholic, there are others who no longer identify with the Catholic Church.
I think they should have that freedom to decide.

Correct, but it also describes the majority of protestants.
If you’re not Catholic why does it bother you how some that identify as Catholic live their life?
I am saying that the God-given gifts of Baptism and Confirmation do not disappear, regardless of their actions. Their souls are still marked indelibly as Catholic!
