1. Best One-Sentence Summary: I am convinced that the Catholic Church conforms much more closely to all of the biblical data, offers the only coherent view of the history of Christianity (i.e., Christian, apostolic Tradition), and possesses the most profound and sublime Christian morality, spirituality, social ethic, and philosophy.
2. Alternate: I am a Catholic because I sincerely believe, by virtue of much cumulative evidence, that Catholicism is true, and that the Catholic Church is the visible Church divinely-established by our Lord Jesus, against which the gates of hell cannot and will not prevail (Mt 16:18), thereby possessing an authority to which I feel bound in Christian duty to submit.
3. 2nd Alternate: I left Protestantism because it was seriously deficient in its interpretation of the Bible (e.g., "faith alone" and many other "Catholic" doctrines - see evidences below), inconsistently selective in its espousal of various Catholic Traditions (e.g., the Canon of the Bible), inadequate in its ecclesiology, lacking a sensible view of Christian history (e.g., "Scripture alone"), compromised morally (e.g., contraception, divorce), and unbiblically schismatic, anarchical, and relativistic. I don't therefore believe that Protestantism is all bad (not by a long shot), but these are some of the major deficiencies I eventually saw as fatal to the "theory" of Protestantism, over against Catholicism. All Catholics must regard baptized, Nicene, Chalcedonian Protestants as Christians.
4. Catholicism isn't formally divided and sectarian (Jn 17:20-23; Rom 16:17; 1 Cor 1:10-13).
5. Catholic unity makes Christianity and Jesus more believable to the world (Jn 17:23).
6. Catholicism, because of its unified, complete, fully supernatural Christian vision, mitigates against secularization and humanism.
7. Catholicism avoids an unbiblical individualism which undermines Christian community (e.g., 1 Cor 12:25-26).
8. Catholicism avoids theological relativism, by means of dogmatic certainty and the centrality of the papacy.

>>>And in doing so he landed your irrelevance on post number 666, good job Vlad!<<<
Not the dreaded “666”!! That’s even scarier than the Spelling Police!!
LOL!
Philip
Im not following that Catechism. Its got this in it.
841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330
Anyone who serves the same god as the Muslims isnt going to get my allegiance.
>>>>Not the dreaded spelling police? Horrors!<<<<
>>Especially when said “police” make their OWN spelling mistakes in a post criticizing someone else for spelling mistakes.<<
There is no better example of being hoisted by one’s own petard :)

The more RCs appeal to Scripture as if it were the basis for doctrines which in fact Rome channels these out of her amorphous Traditions of men (even those which tradition-based EOs disagree with) - not on the basis of the weight of Scriptural evidence - then they more it reveals that these are based on the premise that Rome of being the .one true infallible church, the very thing that they seek to prove by invoking Scripture and Tradition.
On the other tread Staples tries to argue for the validity of Rome's claims by using a means Rome rejects as a basis for assurance, that of examination of Scripture, and must do so by divesting Scripture of its Divine inspiration, since only Rome can authoritatively affirm this, and making assertions (that rely on the premise that Rome is supreme, they very thing he needs to and cannot substantiated, despite his egregious extrapolation.
See, you go your way - the rest of us will follow Our Lord.
(And that you cut-n-paste incomplete sections to play point scoring games reflects on the true immaturity of your efforts. Do read the whole section if you are truly interested. Or not if your nature remains perfidious, sweetie.)
And why do care what the True Church believes? You have your own little cult, be happy! Hey, does your cult actually have a name, or is it just you and the few who listen to you?
It says what it says.
There’s nothing that can change that.
But not surprising, in typical Catholic fashion we are told that it doesn’t mean what it says, it means what the Catholic church says it means.
Big Brother would be jealous.
Thanks for the graphic. I think I now understand you and your cult. You could care less what Christ says, even when his Words are plainly written in your own Catholic version of the bible.
Yours is truly the “bizarrest” of cults.
Philip.
LOL You sure do dance around a lot for having told us you have the fullness of the gospel and all. Why wont you show is in the fullness where the apostles taught the assumption of Mary?
As for what the True Church teaches, it is all available, go to the Catechism and learn, or not.
Again, what do you care sweetie? You and your cult of one knows all, and needs no one, right?
Tell me again about your fullness of the gospel. Not so full for Catholics after all ey? Im calling fail on that whole deal, sugar.
Is that the only cereal you eat? Dont you eat any other kind of cereal you could take pictures of and share?
How many times are you going to annoy us with that stupid cartoon?
“You certainly have chewed up a lot of bandwidth to prove I am irrelevant.”
No, you’ve been doing that. I simply respond to your posts.
>>>YOUR pope kissing the koran. Fits right in with YOUR Catechism of the Catholic church.<<<
Metmom,
I am giving him the benefit of the doubt by assuming he is simply a senile old man. No Christian in their right mind would ever embrace an antichristian religion like Islam or Judaism.
Philip
“Touched a nerve, did it?”
Actually, no.
“There is no better example of being hoisted by ones own petard.”
Nope. I certainly wasn’t harmed by pointing out your government-school-attendee moment.
