Jan 10, 1984 - At a BYU Devotional Apostle Bruce R. McConkie identifies
“salvation by ‘grace alone without works’ as the ‘second greatest heresy’ of Christendom”.
He also refers to the first, or “father of all heresies” which is the “incomprehensible three-in-one spirit essence” of God.
Local Christian leaders decry McConkie’s “hodge podge of confused statements”, his “lack of real understanding of church history”, and his “lack of understanding for other groups.” One labels McConkie’s talk “offensive”.
Surely they don’t disagree amongst themselves or with previously infallible writings by their founders do they?
