>> I'll believe the bible and the practice of biblical Christians<<

Not from what I’ve seen. The twisted logic you have been using is a wonder to behold. The denial you have been exhibiting defies logic and common sense understanding of words.

Dude! Did you even take English class in school? Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Surely you don’t expect reasonably educated adults to read into that something like you claim. Those claims of yours are looking really pathetic.

What kind of indoctrination does it take for people to deny all the obvious documented evidence we present?

Demonic...

And Acts shows how they actually baptized.

Acts 15

The Council at Jerusalem
1 Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. 3 The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad. 4 When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.”

6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

12 The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them. 13 When they finished, James spoke up. “Brothers,” he said, “listen to me. 14 Simon[a] has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles. 15 The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

16 “‘After this I will return
   and rebuild David’s fallen tent.
Its ruins I will rebuild,
   and I will restore it,
17 that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
even all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things’[b]
18 things known from long ago.[c]

19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21 For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

The Council’s Letter to Gentile Believers
22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. 23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

   Greetings.

24 We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. 25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.

   Farewell.

30 So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter. 31 The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message. 32 Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers. 33 After spending some time there, they were sent off by the believers with the blessing of peace to return to those who had sent them. [34] [d] 35 But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord.

Disagreement Between Paul and Barnabas
36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” 37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. 41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

>>Yet, the liars of the Armstrong cult would have us believe that Luke declares that men are to be baptized in the name of the Father and Son only, leaving out the Holy Spirit. But Luke only mentions Jesus Christ. So even their own sophistry comes back to haunt these losers.<<

From the United Church of God site.

“Many of the current ministers and members of the United Church of God were once members of the Worldwide Church of God, a nonprofit corporation under the leadership of Herbert W. Armstrong until his death in 1986.” [http://www.ucg.org/about/]

Yeah! Now I understand where the kooky cultish beliefs come from.

That’s the only explanation I can come up with also. God has allowed them to be blinded by Satan. I really feel sorry for them.

Apr 26, 1841 - Alexander Neibaur goes to work for Joseph Smith. Neibaur is a German-Jewish convert well-versed in the Kabbalah. He tutors Joseph in German and Hebrew and publishes articles on the Kabbalah in official Church publications. Three years later Joseph gives the “King Follett” discourse which echoes themes from Kabbalistic literature. Neibaur is the great grandfather of noted Mormon scholar Hugh Nibley.

Mormonism has lots of messengers and “prophets”..

Why Joey Smith is not on his own...

Apr 28, 1844 - Hyrum Smith preaches that “there were Prophets before Adam.”

Metmom for the Mormons its more like a “missing link” than missing books...

May 4, 1884 - Future apostle James E. Talmadge writes, “Have just returned tonight from service at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The minister spoke against belief in Darwinism and like most ministers whose remarks I have heard or read upon this subject—showed his ignorance. He spoke much as an ordinary person would—”Darwin. Oh yes—says we come from monkeys”—then condemns. I certainly think ‘tis the ministers themselves who have bred the disgust with which most scientific people regard them—because they will dabble with matters from which their ignorance should keep them at a safe distance. The speaker tonight brought out many noble principles, but in spite of his eminence as a preacher—self contradiction and inconsistency were apparent.”

Amazing what all went into Mormonism over the years..
can you say “TRADITIONS OF MEN” ???

I'm not claiming anything. I showed you in the bible where the disciples baptized in the name of Jesus. They didn't think the holy spirit was a person with a "name".

You can't deal with it and it's because you keep misreading this.

You do know that this is an english translation by people who believe believe in the trinity..right?

So who to believe..how scripture actually SAYS what name they baptized in...or your misreading, mistranslating and revisionist idea?

Act_2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Act_19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Act_10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

Act_8:16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Your problem isn't with me. You're getting upset because despite what you believe that passage says neither the practices or words of the disciples agree with you.

and the origins of the Mormon’s idea of “priesthood”

May 4-5, 1842 - On May 4 Joseph Smith, after two days of preparation in the upper story of his store in Nauvoo, organizes the Quorum of Anointed or Holy Order of the Priesthood and, with Hyrum Smith’s help, initiates eight men (James Adams, Heber C. Kimball, William Law, William Marks, George Miller, Willard Richards, Newel K. Whitney, and Brigham Young.) into what would later be called the “temple endowment.”

According to Joseph’s diary he administered “washings, anointings, endowments and the communications of keys pertaining to the Aaronic Priesthood, and so on to the highest order of the Melchizedek Priesthood, setting forth the order pertaining to the Ancient of Days, and all those plans and principles by which any one is enabled to secure the fulness of those blessings which have been prepared for the Church of the First Born, and come up and abide in the presence of the Eloheim in the eternal worlds. In this council was instituted the ancient order of things for the first time in these last days.”

He excludes first counselor Sidney Rigdon and assistant counselor John C. Bennett. On May 5 Joseph and Hyrum are given their endowments by some of the men endowed the day before. Of this Heber C. Kimball (who had been a Mason since 1825) writes to Parley P. Pratt, “We have received some pressious things through the Prophet on the presthood that would cause your Soul to rejoice .... Bro. Joseph Ses Masonry was taken from presthood but has become degenerated. But menny things are perfect.”

In 1858 Kimball declares: “We have the true Masonry. The Masonry of today is received from the apostasy which took place in the days of Solomon and David. They have now and then a thing that is correct, but we have the real thing.” Later the official history of the church omits the names of apostates William Law and William Marks as having been in the original group. Woman do not participate until September 28, 1843.

Youi’ll notice that women at one time were in the priesthood also ...

gosh that’s part of the missing “plain and precious” in Mormonism..

that needs to be restored...

women need to be in the Mormon priesthood again...
