You don't need a priest, or sacraments, or a "church", or a denomination, or charismatic 'gifts' or baptism or hierarchal permission, sanction nor absolution ...

“It seems like a little game that a lot feel they can play with the almighty by having a deathbed conversion. I’ll leave it to God who’s forgiven and who’s not, but you are bordering on preaching cheap grace if you are out saying you can outsmart God and his system. “

I’ll answer your question. You can never outsmart god as He knows your thoughts and motives. Jesus addresses this many times in the scriptures. For example, the Prodigal Son. Was it better to do the wrong thing and repent than to never cleanse your soul.

Remember Jesus said several times that He came here to save, not to judge.

I help ghosts that are stuck here due to their sin by redeeming them and helping them in crossing over to heaven. I’ve been doing it for over 20 years with compassion and Love. I have no doubt that there is no unpardonable sin, no matter how severe. But, it must be redeemed in a way that cleanses the soul and heals the wound. This is why conditional forgiveness is not forgiveness. Remember Jesus’ important words after He healed someone... “Go and sin no more.”

Remember what Jesus said when He healed the 10 lepers. One man stopped and praised God and Jesus said, “That man has been made whole.” The reality is that the other 9 most likely had their leprosy return.

God seems to pick His biggest screw ups for His most important work.... Moses, Paul and Peter are all examples of this.

Well is not “once saved, always saved” a big thing among the Evangelical Christians? Just asking.

Right, if i really believed that, i would just go out and raise hell in such a manner as i have never done.

But then, “wait a second” what if i was not really saved to begin with?

But one thing sure, all of these questions will give us something to think about and we do need to think about all of them.

My own belief is that if we do what Jesus said to do and not do the things he said not to do we are saved.

Because if we do not believe in him why would we pay any attention to what he said.

The biggest arguments are over what did Jesus actually say?

We can only find it in the four Gospels.

If Bundy was sincere in crying out in faith no way God would reject him.

True faith can never be rejected. Because it’s trust in Jesus righteousness. And that is the only key to heaven.

A non-Catholic CAN go in and talk with the priest, but the full benefits of the Sacrament will not be available to him. I’ve known several non-Catholics at retreats who have gone in and talked with the priest during the Confession time. (Usually on Saturday night.)

Full benefits? So Catholicism really is a points based system for salvation. How many net points on the good side are needed?

And what's wrong with cheap grace??? In fact, grace is so cheap, it's free...It's a free gift...

You only need to believe Jesus died for your sins and call on HIM to save you

And then what?

I think they KEY phrase in your statement is 'call on HIM'. How one defines that phrase makes all the difference.

Especially when you consider that the phrase came from the book of Joel.

That’s what makes the Catholic religion so convent. Do whatever you want. Kill, drink, have extramarital affairs, steal, rape and plunder. As long as you make it to confession your forgiven.

The OSAS crowd goes a step further. Get saved first, then do whatever you want.

“A non-Catholic CAN go in and talk with the priest, but the full benefits of the Sacrament will not be available to him.”

A duck is a duck is a duck, no matter what name you call him.

I am a non-Catholic by Catholic standards. However I have friends that are priests and nuns. I have spent time worshipping, praying and meditating with priests and Carmelite nuns at the monastery. And, I study Catholic doctrine. No human can withhold the most Holy Sacraments from me as the sacraments come directly from God and the only intercessor is His Son.

I have met priests that Jesus does not know, even in the Vatican. I have also met quiet humble nuns whose prayers I have heard from many miles away. Remember, the strong are weak and the weak are strong when it comes to knowing God and experiencing Heaven.

If you have put enough faith in Jesus that you believe he has the power to save you, that is repentance enough...

That's not repentance. Repentance means to turn away from sin.

If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. .....John 20:21-23 Jesus requested this, specifically. In the fullness of Jesus Christ's Gospel, this is why it is done. Why is it that other Christians, do not do it?

And yet, no one ever went to Peter or any other man to confess any sin for an example to us...The apostles never ask for it or recommended it...

And yet, Peter and the other apostles tell others they must go to God to confess, not to them or some other man...

It ought to be very clear that your religion is misunderstanding the verse you cite for your claim of proof...

Because the non-Catholic does not believe in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, he can’t validly receive absolution.

Please get onr of these books and read up on Near Death Experiences

I am not unfamiliar with these books or the stories that they come from, they are interesting and some of them may be true.

But they are not the Gospel.

“If you have put enough faith in Jesus that you believe he has the power to save you, that is repentance enough..”

The problem with most Christians is that they treat Jesus like a lifeguard that can pluck them out when they are drowning. While Jesus can save you, He was a rabbi, a teacher who was teaching us to be like Him. I would much sooner have a lifeguard teach me how to swim so I in turn might teach others. That’s what the Bible is for!

They give much insight into understanding the Gospel.

What's a non Catholic required to do to receive the full benefit of full forgiveness of God???
