Actually Linda was popular in the 40’s and 50’s. Probably because of Linda Darnell.

I went to school with a lot of Lindas in the 1950s and 1960s. My mother attributed the popularity of the name to the song “Linda”.

Debbie was another name popular in the 50s, because of Debbie Reynolds I guess.
