I counsel Christians to unite with a church in their own community.
1. Does your Church teach that the sabbath was changed from the seventh day of the week to the first day?
2. Does it believe it has the authority to collect tithes?
3. Does it believe in infant baptism?
4. Does it believe that women should preach?
5. Does it believe that widows under three score years of age should be a member of the Church?
6. Does it believe that a man who has a mother or an aunt to care for should be a member of the church?
7. Does it believe a man who is committing adultery with his step mother should be in the Church?
8. Does it understand why Jesus said to go out and buy swords but then said two is enough?
10. Does it believe Jesus literally sweat blood?
11. Does it believe that people are going to be lifted up and go to heaven with out dieing?
12. Does it know for certain the one called lucifer is satan? sorry no capitals there.
13. Does it know for certain the first resurrection has not already taken place?
14. Do they know the difference between the letters of the apostles from the Gospel of Jesus?
A few of the questions above i can accept even though i might not agree, others require plain scripture.
Just a part of the list but should give you a pretty good idea of why i do not go to Church and why i am not missed.
I do respect the Church as there are some that i get along just fine with but none within 500 miles.
I stay away for their sake as well as my own, mostly good people.
Nope.
The 'sabath' is STILL Saturday - it alwaus WILL be.
We come together as a congregation on Sunday: the first day of the week.
(I've read something about this... somewhere.)
Technically; no.
We might occasionally CALL the offerings of the congregation a 'tithe', but we operate on the 'cheerful giver' principal.
Technically; no.
We might occasionally CALL dedicating a child to the Lord 'baptism', but we operate on the principle found in these verses: Luke 2:22, Exodus 13:2
Sure, why not?
The bible is FULL of facts about women being involved in ministry.
Perhaps you are thinking about PAUL's reluctance to let a woman TEACH?
1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
Build a raft and sail away from there!
Ask away.
You really weren’t looking for guidance on which church to choose to attend. You already had a pretty complete idea what you were looking for.
