To be more accurate, Douglas DOES believe Jesus is a god... It’s just that he believes Jesus is one of two different “God personages,” and that we can become a ‘God personage’ too, right next to him. (Though he relegates the Holy Spirit to being an inanimate object.)
IOW, it’s Mormon’s polytheism, but they claim to escape the polytheistic charge by arguing that the ‘God Family’ is “One God”, and so the noun “God” is really a group noun that encompasses many individual members within it.
They are an adamant, anti-Trinitarian religious cult, with many beliefs borrowed from the LDS, JWs and SDA.
So when Douglas says he is “telling you the truth,” he’s leaving out a whole lot of details that puts him outside of Christianity.
