What you profess to believe is magnified more by how you act than the words which you declare. Liberals profess to be patriotic, tolerant, open minded and caring for their fellow men. Their actions show otherwise.
Thus it is with some self-professed Christians.
That would include John Calvin and his efforts to behead, drown and burn Anabaptists who refused to sign on to his mainstream trinitarian view.
Quite a few of them gave up and said "What difference does it make?" Quite a few others did not. That why we have a tradition of Freedom of Religion in this country.
But some would prefer to spend their efforts fighting those who refuse to toe the orthodox line rather than those who would destroy the concept of religious freedom completely.
Good mainstream Protestant leaders such as Rev. Billy Graham and Rev. Jerry Falwell reached that conclusion some time ago and came to promote that cooperation with the much we have in common does far more for the cause than highlighting the disagreement over points of doctrine.
I hope that you will one day mature to that point as well.
Credo in Deum Patrem omnipotentem;
Creatorem caeli et terrae.
Et in Jesum Christum,
Filium eius unicum, Dominum nostrum;
qui conceptus est
de Spiritu Sancto,
natus ex Maria virgine;
passus sub Pontio Pilato,
crucifixus, mortuus, et sepultus;
descendit ad inferos;
tertia die resurrexit a mortuis;
ascendit ad caelos;
sedet ad dexteram Dei Patris omnipotentis;
inde venturus est
iudicare vivos et mortuos.
Credo in Spiritum Sanctum;
sanctam ecclesiam catholicam;
sanctorum communionem;
remissionem peccatorum;
carnis resurrectionem;
vitam aeternam. Amen.
In English:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
he will come again
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen
I hope that you will one day mature to that point as well.
***No doubt you would have the same hope for Christ Himself, who vehemently condemns such false teachers as ‘sons of satan’. If someone is pushing a heresy that Jesus is not God Himself, he deserves such condemnation, straight from the same Jesus Whom you have such high hopes of maturation of His point of view.
