The problem for me is that the people this describes are those that occupy high and low office in the Church. I refer to the pro-abortion-politician-loving USCCB in particular. And not only do they force public policy, they actively thwart the teaching of proper Catechism and morals.
That's why I left the church - things are so awful by me that I now have serious doubts about the beneficial value of the Eucharist. I wish this were not the case, but I'm seeing a negative correlation between the frequency that a person participates in the sacrament of Communion and the amount of vile (yet sanctimoniously executed) actions taken by them.
It breaks my heart, really (no sarcasm whatsoever), but I can't ignore what's happening.
See my post #9.
That is the kind of testimony that is censored, but as i have said before, if the Eucharist were regulated by the FDA as a health supplement, the claims made for it could be cited as false advertizing

If so, are these same Catholics in line for Confession? How often do you see them praying before the Blessed Sacrament or in the Adoration Chapels? How often do you see them praying the Rosary? The Eucharist is not very powerful, if the recipient has mortal sin on their soul. The Eucharist is not very powerful, if the person receiving is otherwise distracted from the whole of its Good.
Remember that we had leadership trouble from the git-go. The Apostles lived with Jesus for 3 1/2 years, knew the direct gaze of His eyes and the sound of His voice, received Communion from His very hands. And then, at the point of crisis, that dreadful day when one Apostle betrayed Christ, one denied 3 times that he even knew Him, and the rest, cowards, scrambled for the tall grass. With the solitary exception of John the son of Zebedee.
And that dreadful time, 500 years ago, when every single Catholic Bishop in Britain decided that Henry VIII was fit to be head of the Church of England, adulterer, apostate, church-looter and murderer though he was. With the solitary exception of Bishop John Fisher.
Take heed and be faithful. The tares grow with the wheat and choke it. He knows that. Suffer for Christ. Suffer with Him. Pray for sinners.
There's no other way ---no other way --- to help them, or yourself, become a bit more worthy as human beings.
Why would you let what those people do influence you? It isn't the Eucharist that's causing those people to be mean and ugly. Are those same people in line for the Confessional on a regular basis? I'd venture to say they are not. Reminds me of what my mother told my older brother when he said he didn't want to go to Church, because there were so many hypocrites there. She just said, well, they're right where they NEED to be!
If people are going to reject Jesus in their regular lives, receiving Him in the Sacrament of Holy Communion on a Sunday isn't going to help them much.
