The Christian faith has not been tried and found wanting. It has rather been found difficult and left untried. Chesterton
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending. The story of Jesus is either the greatest event in history or the cruelest hoax. If it is a hoax, then the whole of the Christian message crumbles together with the hopes of those multitudes of lives built on his name. The apostle Paul said:
And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up; if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. -1 Corinthians 15:14-19 (NKJV)
But if the story is true, then this world has been hit with extraordinary news of earth-shaking consequences. Have you taken the trouble to decide which it is?
In a matter this weighty, it is in your interest to explore the truth or falsity of Christ's claims. Amazingly however, many people who don't believe have never bothered to explore the evidence in support of Jesus,[1] but to the contrary, often run away from it. At the same time, many Christians themselves are not sure, at bottom, whether the claims of their faith are solid. Is the Christian claim a hoax? Is it just wishful thinking? Or is it actually true?

There is NOT a huge pile of evidence that Jesus claimed to be God.
Frankly, you have to have blinders on to think that.
There is a HUGE pile of evidence that he did not claim to be God, and very thin ambiguos evidence to the contrary.
I have a Christian friend who says that Trinitarian WILL NOT SEE, REFUSE TO SEE.
Let the Truth sink in that you are UNWILLING TO SEE THE TRUTH.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
********
He ain’t Three
He already has.
He already has.
So you are saying you don’t have to believe in the Trinity to be saved.
There are no scriptural proofs that Jesus was not God...There is plenty of scriptural proof however that the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father are 3 separate entities...And there is abundant scriptural proof that those 3 are also one entity...
You are telling us that God can't or wouldn't do that...God says otherwise...We believe God...
And the Son said that he and the Father are one...That's just as clear...Apparently you're are convinced that you can only pick one of those to believe...We don't have that burden...We believe both...
No, its not just as clear nor what you think. Here is a good explanation:
1. There is no reason to take this verse to mean that Christ was saying that he and the Father make up one God. The phrase was a common one, and even today if someone used it, people would know exactly what he meanthe and his father are very much alike. When Paul wrote to the Corinthians about his ministry there, he said that he had planted the seed and Apollos had watered it. Then he said, he who plants and he who waters are one (1 Cor. 3:8 KJV). In the Greek texts, the wording of Paul is the same as that in John 10:30, yet no one claims that Paul and Apollos make up one being. Furthermore, the NIV translates 1 Corinthians 3:8 as he who plants and he who waters have one purpose. Why translate the phrase as are one in one place, but as have one purpose in another place? In this case, translating the same phrase in two different ways obscures the clear meaning of Christs statement in John 10:30: Christ always did the Fathers will; he and God have one purpose.
2. Christ uses the concept of being one in other places, and from them one can see that one purpose is what is meant. John 11:52 says Jesus was to die to make all Gods children one. In John 17:11, 21 and 22, Jesus prayed to God that his followers would be one as he and God were one. We think it is obvious that Jesus was not praying that all his followers would become one being or substance just as he and his Father were one being or substance. We believe the meaning is clear: Jesus was praying that all his followers be one in purpose just as he and God were one in purpose, a prayer that has not yet been answered.
3. The context of John 10:30 shows conclusively that Jesus was referring to the fact that he had the same purpose as God did. Jesus was speaking about his ability to keep the sheep, the believers, who came to him. He said that no one could take them out of his hand and that no one could take them out of his Fathers hand. Then he said that he and the Father were one, i.e., had one purpose, which was to keep and protect the sheep.
Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God?
Absolutely, I believe He is the Son of God, born of a Virgin,
sent by God to redeem us from our sins and reconcile us to God thru belief and repentance.
Do you believe He is the Son of Man?
it is not in vain to say..”my God!”...you are confused.
Sir, the confusion resides in your position. For a itinerant Jew who no doubt wore his phylacteries with great care, Thomas would be very mindful of the "Big 10" and not use God's Name in vain.
yes..that heretical nonsense that Jesus asked his father that His will be done, not Jesus’s ..as he awaited his coming torture. That we see clearly as is the fact, that Jesus is God’s son and we are supposed to be like him in forgiveness. that is pretty heretical indeed! Oh wait!..Jesus is God! So therefore we cannot possible be like him in forgiving trespassers! No...we cannot possibly live that way! ..only God could do that!......not!
to see something beautiful of God’s creation ..and say “my God”...is certainly not in vain. You are so lost in your mind that you cannot see the reality and commonsense of Jesus and the very simplicity of his being. In all of your learning, you guys have lost the real salvation that he came to give you... and only have left an idea of salvation..it is an illusion and you will not see it.
Absolutely
Good, we agree He is both the Son of God and the Son of Man.
I hadn’t thought about it but yes I suppose so.
He referred to himself as the Son of Man. He was (and is) also the Son of God.
Really, since his Father was God and his Mother was Mary, I guess you could say he was a little of both.
Anyway, I don’t claim to know everything, but I do know Jesus is not God with certainty.
But not his own Father.
