Interesting - the word “Baptist” has never come up, either orally or in any of the written materials I’ve seen. They present as nondenom.

They were planted by a Baptist Church:

Since August 1977, when Highland Village First Baptist Church started as a mission of Lakeland Baptist Church (Lewisville, Texas), God has been steadfast in His blessings upon our church. http://www.thevillagechurch.net/flower-mound/about-us/who-we-are/our-story/

And they show up on the SBC church directory

(But I actually know from having met a couple of staff members).

Well, there ya go. I’m a little surprised because most of the SBC congregations I’m familiar with required baptism by immersion to join, and my kid hasn’t been told she needs to do so (being a Methodist, she got sprinkled as an infant). And no, I do not wish to engage in a debate about it with any lurkers.

People have have a desire to label everything and put it in a box. I find that in cases where I have done this, it was simply to make myself feel better about my choices. Thankfully, I’m past that. You can’t put most people in a box, and you certainly can’t put God in a box. He can use ANYTHING for his purposes. Blessings. :)

That is interesting. I’ve known of some SBC who will accept adult baptism by sprinkling, but infant sprinkling would be unusual.

While the Village isn’t exactly my flavor, I haven’t heard anything negative about them, and my limited contacts have been positive. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from going there.
