JERUSALEM A small but growing movement by Jewish activists demanding the right to pray at the site of their destroyed temple, in the heart of this disputed capitals Old City, is creating a potentially explosive clash with the Muslim world, which considers the spot holy and bans Jews from public worship there.
Each week, hundreds of Jews ascend the creaky wooden ramp built above the Western Wall and enter what is often called the most contested real estate on Earth. Many then embark upon a game of hide-and-seek with their police escorts whispering forbidden prayers while pretending to talk into cellphones, and getting in quick but banned bows by dropping coins and then bending to pick them up.
Their proposals, long dismissed as extremist, are now being debated in the Israeli parliament and embraced by an expansionist wing in the ruling coalition government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
These political leaders, many in Netanyahus party, want Israel to assert more, not less, control over the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Old City, including the place known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif, or the Noble Sanctuary.
Were looking for it to be divided between Jews and Muslims, said Aviad Visoli, chairman of the Temple Mount Organizations, which claims 27 groups under its umbrella. Today, Jews realize the Western Wall is not enough. They want to go to the real thing.(continued)

I can’t understand or fathom this, it all seems so petty, and ridiculous that Muslims and Jews cannot both pray on the temple mount.
Muslims like interfaith cooperation in Western countries where they are the minority but one sees their true colors in how they react to Jews worshipping in Jerusalem at Jewish holy sites.
It isn’t complicated to understand this. The Muslims purposely built atop the destroyed temple to show the dominance after conquering Jerusalem. Compare it to dogs marking their fireplug - last one is top dog.
......Yet NOT ONCE is Jerusalem EVER mentioned in the Koran, unlike the Bible in which Jerusalem is mentioned over 600 times.
Yet that is simply, the temple mount, really under Jewish control.
They never will win another war. That is the point of what Obama and Jarrett are doing with Iran. The destruction of the Jewish State -- long the goal of the Muslim world -- is now a primary goal of our own government.
Well you forget that Israel is the SUPERPOWER of the Middle East. They can hand over to their enemies their rear-ends.
Yet in the end, Obama and Jarett, WILL LOSE, for certain.
They are arming Muslim terrorists with nuclear weapons. It is utter treason, for which any military officer would be imprisoned or executed. But they are doing it nonetheless.
Yet I stand by my position, for even the Muslim terrorists WILL still lose.
All it will take is one dirty nuke to make Israel economically nonviable, by contaminating enough of the central area that it's unhealthy to live and raise children there.
It doesn't even have to explode in Israel. One plane flying off-shore in international waters on a supposed flight to Egypt, detonating a cobalt device when the wind is blowing east, would do the job.
Raise the Mosque—rebuild the temple! OR Turn the Mosque into a Museum (Like they did hagia Sophia in Istambul).
Sure about that?
I stand by my position. Israel is still a SUPERPOWER in that part of the world.
AMEN.
You are correct in saying that “they” (as in the Jewish STATE) will “never will win another war.”
Even though the state of Israel takes the credit, ALL their wars have been and will be won by the God who “neither slumbers nor sleeps” as He keeps her.
BTW, this push for access to the temple mount will be a banner the antichrist picks up in his bid for “peace”.
AMEN!
I agree, Israel is a superpower, as measured by her offensive capabilities.
But she is a superpower with a glass chin, with little ability to keep going if Haifa and Jerusalem become uninhabitable due to fallout.
Israel does not have a “glass chin.” No it does not.
