How do you assume Christ wanted/ started a church?

Ephesians 2:20-22, Nicene Creed which many Churches use as well.

He founded his church on the Apostles, the first Bishops, and told them to go out to all nations, “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Before that he had sent out the 12 and then the 72. Of course Christ founded the Catholic Church.

No assumption is needed. Christ Himself stated that ... “...upon this rock I will build My Church.” (Matthew 16)
