I’ve never seen the study that shows that priests actually have a higher rate of pedophilia than the general pop. (Not saying it’s not possible, but I’ve never seen it, and yet so many people, mostly non-Catholics, seem to believe it already been proven to be so.)
This wasn’t even a case of pedophilia. It was statutory rape/ephebophilia. If this had happened a few months later it wouldn’t even be an actual crime.

No, most of the pedophilia in the priesthood took place in the 1970s and 1980s, as a product of the so-called “sexual revolution” in the general culture. Woodstock, and all that.
It took the Church by surprise, and the bishops didn’t really know how to handle it. They took some bad advice from professional psychiatrists, who said the errant priests could be quickly fixed and put back into parishes.
The percentage of sexual misbehavior in the Church was lower than the general population even back then, since sexual misbehavior was widespread. And it’s certainly much lower now.

A church in Jacksonville, Florida is coming under fire for its controversial decision to ban children from its church services.
According to a local Jacksonville news affiliate, Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church has banned children from attending Sunday services because their new pastor, Darrell Gilyard, is a registered sex offender and cannot have contact with children.
In 2009 Gilyard plead guilty to lewd conduct and lewd molestation of two underage girls. While he was the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church Gilyard molested a 15-year-old girl and sent a lewd text message to another. Under the conditions of his plea agreement, Gilyard cannot have “unsupervised contact with children under 18 years old,” and his new church has taken extraordinary steps to help Gilyard stick to the terms of his deal.
Despite the seriousness of his offense, Gilyard’s return to the pulpit was swift. After being released from jail on December 28, he resumed preaching in January, and told reporters he hopes he can move past this incident and continue with his work.

Do a little research It’s a studied and published fact. The rate for Protestant Ministers and pedophile acts is close to 8% where it is under 3% in the Catholic Church.

What does God have to say about any kind of sexual deviants? I do not give a hoot what the media says, they are on a self promotion mission of normalizing perversion. All this religious need under the Catholic name to differentiate the age of the body being molested does not come from God.
