Heavenly Father –
The headlines filled with violence – home and abroad – are another reminder of the signs of the times and a reflection of the rebellion in our hearts against You. And in our country another sign of rebellion is a renewed effort to remove all references to God from the public discourse and displays – such as taking out “under God” from the pledge.
We confess our sins which we commit daily as individuals and as a nation, especially when we live like atheists. Yet may we take comfort that You over-rule all the evil devices of men and women. May Your people, Father, walk in the Light of Your Word and be filled with the Holy Spirit to do Your will in this world.
Protect all those who serve others from the first responders to the latest crisis at home to our brave men and women who put on the uniform and put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe.
We ask for Your mercies in Jesus’ precious Name,
