These threads are going to be even funner once Francis starts going all-in on Liberation theology. Let’s see a Catholic pretzel!

I don’t know if Pope Francis has ever espoused Liberation Theology (I hope not), but I am sure that he will surprise many people with his personal humility and sincerity. I don’t know if I would agree with him on all things political, but I am very impressed with his demeanor so far. This pope is cut from a most uncommon cloth. He is certainly shaking things up. In the case of the Catholic church, some shaking up seems overdue.

Hmmm... that's not the Francis I have read.

I'm a Protestant but I find much enlightenment in the teachings of Pope Francis. So far, anyway.

I know my Bible well enough to discern the difference if he starts preaching counter to Scripture. Until that day...

"15 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. 16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice."

Philippians 1:15-18 (ESV)
