No, the Jesus that Catholics worship is not the same Jesus in many regards.
I am open to the idea that it could be divine plan, that we do not know the same Jesus.
I don’t know how Catholics pray to Mary, or have saints or force people to tithe and have confirmation and Infant baptism. BUT Catholics to do not know the same Jesus that Christians know, and that is just a fact.
What Catholics do in their Religion goes against what most Christians believe that Jesus told us to do. How to rectify that?
Free salvation for all, for Good works? We can’t agree to that. The word says otherwise.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit, as talked about in the world, speaks against a Pope and a hierarchy that Catholics worship.
I honestly do not know why we have so many understandings. I believe the experiment is that we still have to love each other anyway. There is one faith, one God, one Baptism.
A Catholics understanding of the Trinity is not the same as what is in the Bible. It just isn’t. We are not speaking about the same faith, the same God or the same Baptism.
Jesus is the same for everyone.
We do not pray “to” Mary, we ask her to pray for us. The Book of Revelation includes an image of saints with bowls of incense (our prayers going up). We ask the saints to pray for us too.
In the Catholic Mass we have two parts — the Liturgy of the Word (readings from the Old Testament, a Psalm, a reading from the New Testament — usually St. Paul and a Gospel. What is wrong with that?
The second part is the Litrugy of the Eucharist — Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.” So we offer this part of Mass, unifed with Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross in memory of him.
What’s wrong with that?
Free salvation — don’t know where you got that one. Catholics partake of two Sacraments that forgive sins, the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation/Confession) and the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. We work at our salvation each and every day with the graces received at our baptism.
What’s wrong with that?
Christ gave the Keys of the Kingdom to Peter and told him to tend his sheep, feed his sheep, feed his lambs. The Popes also follow those instructions from Christ. The words of Christ — trump what you are saying.
The Bible speaks of the Trinity in Matthew when Jesus’ words once more instruct the apostles and the disciples “Go to all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus’ words — paraphasing is mine.
What religion/denomination do you belong to? These are strange assertions, at least in my mind, that you make.
Many of you claim to be Bible believers and like to sling verses around willy nilly with out fully appreciating the fact that it was Sacred Tradition that sorted through the various (20+) canons in use prior to the 5th century along side HUMAN reason guided by the Holy Spirit that did in fact discern the canon.
When confronted with a clear teaching of scripture (This is my body... This is my blood....) most of you resort to the most fantastic mental gymnastics and gyrations to try and refute/ ignore it, while still claiming to believe the Bible and saying the Catholics don't.
Give me a break
The only break you received was when Christ died for ALL your sins so you could receive eternal life if you believed on His Finished Work for you.
Why do you think? Am I the only person who hasn’t filled out a profile? Is that a crime? Are you upset by what I am saying and looking to try to hurt me, marginalize me, discredit me as a person?
Are you going to start a mob with burning brush to try to chase me off?
lol,, come on.
See? Another difference between a Catholic and a Christian. Catholics do seem to attack the person, Christians talk about the word of God.
:shurgs:
That’s the truth.
Christians have the right to enter the Holly of Hollies and address the Father, on their own. We are the Priests. We are not to pray to anyone else, or ask anyone but Jesus to intercede for us. We are Children of God.
It is a gift that we are the Children of God, with all of the privilege of a Jewish adoption. We are the saints, who have been giving ever right and gift and good thing.
We are not talking about the same Jesus. I am sorry, but we aren’t. Jesus died to pay the ransom for you, so you can crawl up into the Father’s lap and ask for what you want.
He cares deeply for you- and wants you to have that intimacy. Mary is a human being, like you.
We call him Abba, Father- he is God, the great I am, and he will bring you all peace and understanding, if you ask Him.
>> “We do not pray to Mary, we ask her to pray for us” <<
.
How do you accomplish that without praying to your idol?
Do you hold a seance?
How do you know that the demonic spirit that responds is ‘Mary?’
If a demon does pray for you, to whom does the demon pray?
None of this makes sense to those that know Yeshua.
>> “Where did you get that information?” <<
.
From John-Paul.
In a fit of brain fog he said that the evilutionists must be right, and most of the RC ‘church’ jumped on the band wagon with him.
Ew. No.
>> “It has been my experience that most protestants truly lack the intellectual depth to be able to engage in theological debate of any significant depth.” <<
.
And with that, the entire FR forum convulsed in uncontrollable laughter!
(We LOLOLOLOLOLOL.....ED)
No kidding........
We can do tests but I will bet that wafer cookies and wine are in fact not made of flesh and blood.
And really the only reason to discuss theology is for edification and encouragement.
This is not a soccer game. We don’t have teams.
This is a quick link I found- which shows some of what I know IS Jesus. If editor-surveyor can agree with me, then the purpose would not be to embarrass anyone or even turn from your religion, but to encourage you to look deeper.
This is the Messiah, the one who came for you, who loves you, who died for you because you are worthy, and who gives you permission to approach God, with your heart IN confidence.
This is the lamb of God, who is worthy of all of your worship- that doesn’t need a veil or an idol or a covering, to come face to face and ask for your needs.
This is the Jesus I know and have known for many, many years.
Is that the Jesus you know and have been taught about? Don’t answer if you don’t want to, I am not here to fight or embarass- but please consider in your heart.

Names, titles and characters of God.
Or Snoop Doggie Dogg for Trace Adkins fans.
Not NEAR as much fun as an emotional one!
Leave the poor woman ALONE!
It's no WONDER that she vacations in Portugal and other spots to get AWAY from all the WORK she is REQUIRED to do!
When confronted with a clear teaching of scripture...
Evidently NOT so clear after all!
Yeah...
Sure...
Acts 15:28-29
28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:
29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
Leviticus 17:10-14
10 I will set my face against any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who eats blood, and I will cut them off from the people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for ones life. 12 Therefore I say to the Israelites, None of you may eat blood, nor may any foreigner residing among you eat blood.
13 Any Israelite or any foreigner residing among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, 14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.
