The Mormon-Muslim connection must be studied further.
Walid Shoebat is a former terrorist and ex-Muslim who is now a born-again Christian. What he says about Glenn Beck should be looked into even if a grain of salt is needed.
The term “chrislam” usually refers to survival techniques used by Middle Eastern Christians to appease the Muslim majority that surrounds them.
Apologists for Islam often claim that the Koran contains no bloodthirsty verses (!!?) nor preaches hatred for Jews, and they deliberately omit mention of the Hadiths & Sira (life of Mohammed) which are filled with violent rhetoric against Jews and other “infidels”.
It is not “Mormon-bashing” to be suspicious of the origin of the Book of Mormon, by the way. I listen to Glenn Beck every day but I still wonder what spiritual journey drove him from Catholicism to Mormonism.
Walid is Solid.
Catholicism permits liquor. Mormonism forbids it.
Beck is more comfortable in a religion that considers his greatest enemy to be an "evil" substance rather than a foodstuff. It helps his recovery in a very uncomplicated way.
Also, Beck has a very grandiose sense of self - a religion which teaches that he may one day be the deity of his own universe would be very attractive to him, I would think.
Not at all - merely common-sense.
The Holy Bible makes perfect sense from Genesis to Revelation and is supported by secular historians and modern archeology.
The Book of Mormon, on the other hand....
The “spiritual” journey was made through excessive use of
distilled spirits.... as in booze.
Apparently the mormons picked up the pieces and cleaned him up. Could just as well been Baptists if he’d found their recovery ministries.
AA originally non-denominational.
