An insult. Who is is insulting who with your name tag. Why we can take any writing into our own nonsense thoughts. I have been there and done it too out of eagerness. You think you are not acting like a lawyer at times. We isolated a word or verse from scripture or early church fathers. I came to the conclusion after reading it just goes on for its own sake after awhile. I hope the best for you. Peace in Christ.

“We isolated a word or verse from scripture or early church fathers.”

Indeed, you isolate a word out of its context, and then call me a lawyer just because I make a rational argument out of the entire work. If the flesh profiteth nothing in Christ’s explanation of “eating or drinking” Him, only the spirit quickeneth, how does it follow that eating the flesh and blood of Christ really DOES profit? Therefore, “to believe on Him whom God has sent” is to eat already, as that is the “work of God” that we are enjoined to do.

This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever.” John 6:58

It should be noted that consuming the bread as manna did not bring eternal life, but eating the bread of Life provides for those who live forever.

I came to the conclusion, after reading the article, the author is in fellowship with God and his brethren, seeking to communicate a litany of deceptive weaknesses in RCC theology, which misled him away from Christ. He seeks to clarify their omissions and commissions of sinful theology so that other new believers aren’t similarly misled.

He’s well qualified and experienced to report his witness and this is even more verified as he submits his testimony to the authority of God Himself revealed in His Word.

Yet protestants are deceived every single day by an impurely translated “Bible”! Take the beam from your eye before you take the speck from mine!

It’s God who performs the interpretation in our thinking which provides His Word to every believer.

The writings of a man who decided to be his own magisterium of one. I’ll bet the true reason for his abandonment of the Truth is blonde, brunette or redhead.

Funny how protestants can decide their own papacy of one which becomes the singular papacy of each of them.

I think this has been posted before and his errancy is just as errant as it has ever been.

What needs to be realized is the need for Christians of all donominations to come to the full realization that it is our common baptism in Christ that really should unite us.

Sometimes I think this is the internet equivalent of the Thirty Years War.

You got that right Biggirl, but so many people do not believe that Jesus was telling the truth when he says the truth will set us free.

Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Body of Christ, a great and unfathomable mystery. You will be remembered in prayer.

The sad reality is that Christians of all church backrounds cannot get past past issues at a time when Christians around the world are suffering for their faith in Christ.

Silly. I have personally known more than one Catholic Priest who had a blonde, brunette or redhead (or two or three!) who did not become Evangelicals. They just kept on doing their priestly duties (and seeing their women). Guess they are good Catholics, because they didn’t try to be “their own popes?”

... and, please, explain how coming to faith in Christ, Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, somehow — in your view — constitutes an “abandonment of the truth?”

You would have done well as an officer of the Spanish Inquisition, methinks!

I love Richard Bennett. I have posted links to Richard’s materials before.
Prepare for a pounding. The world hates the glorious yet simple gospel of grace and anyone who professes it. Despite his love for Catholics and his deep desire to see them come to a saving faith in Christ, most hate him for it.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” (Romans 3:20)

Even Catholics don’t believe what Catholics believe anymore. It’s not like the good old days when Salvation was through the Church and the Protestant Heathen be damned. Our church bought the former Catholic Church and they didn’t even have a proper torture chamber or a place to burn heretics.

When you abandon the Eucharist, you have abandoned the Truth.

“You would have done well as an officer of the Spanish Inquisition, methinks!”

Probably not. I don’t deal well with government officials which is what the inquisition was about unless you only read drivel instead of actual historical fact.

Inserting slanders into a discussion is a sure way of ending it. Slyly insulting others is also a mark of the devil.

Peace be with you and good day.
