Haven’t heard anything back. I don’t think my grandmother could get an answer, either, and she was the most devout person I’ve known in my life so far.

One can be deeply religious, and yet still be more interested in one’s spirit being invested in oneself than in being invested in our Heavenly Father. Self is one of the hardest idols to mow down in a life, and God sometimes has to bust that idol but good in order to get His voice through.

The Bible is the Word of God. If one wants to know God, one must read his Word. There simply is no other way.

Ideas like "not having answers", "why is there evil in the world", "why do good people get hurt", etc., are all explained in numerous places in the Bible, such that, if honestly studied, will provide the direction and comfort that we need.

Imagine a world with no God: Imagine a world where rewards and punishments seem to be handed out in a wheel-of-fortune-like, random manner, where much does not make sense, you can never tell what will happen from day to day, and no one seems to be in charge.

Looks pretty much like our world, eh? Despite what people on here say, your choice is not "Believe in God and trust him, or get mad and be angry with Him." It's "Close your eyes and believe someone is in charge, or open them and see the world for the random, lonely, and ungoverned place it is." Once you get used to seeing it for what it is, learn to make the best of it. There's nothing out there but stars. But at least your thoughts are your own.
