There has been some misunderstandings about God and healing that needs to be cleared up. Some people think that God puts sickness on people to teach them something, that is not true. The scripture says that Jesus came to undo the works of the devil (1John 3:8). What is one work of the devil, let's look at Acts 10:38, How God anointed Jesus of Nazereth with the Holy Ghost and power: who went about doing good, and healing all that was oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. So, sickness is not of God it is from the devil, and God sees healing a good. God anointed Jesus for the purpose of healing. Some people think healing is not important to God, but according to the scripture healing is very important to God. And since he doesn't change it is still important to him (Malachi 3:6).
Now, let's look at another point, God has already provided healing for you. He said in Matthew 15, that healing is the children's bread. What is bread, another word for bread is provision. It is something already provided. But, here's the thing you can not let your body dictate to you what God has done. Because your flesh can't know the things of God because they are spiritually discerned (1Corinthians 2:14). That's why this is a faith walk, because you have to believe independent of your senses. Let's see an example in Luke 17, ten lepers came to Jesus and asked him to have mercy on them and Jesus replied, "Go show yourselves unto the priest." Now in that time you only showed yourself to priests after you've been cleansed. And the scripture says that as they went they were cleansed. Now, when did Jesus provide the healing, when he said, "Go show yourselves unto the priests", because that was all he did. But, notice even though he provided something they didnt' look any different and they didn't feel any different. They did not let there bodies determine whether something was done or not and Jesus called that faith.
Let's clear up something else God does not heal some and not other. God makes the provision to everyone and it's up to you to receive it. Let's look all the way back to the old testament up to the new to see this. Notice in Psalm 105:37 it is referring to the day after the Passover, He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble one among their tribes. God healed everyone, not some and not others. Let's see another example in Numbers 21:8, it refers to when serpents were bitting the children of Isreal and they were dying from the bites. God told Moses, "Make thee a fiery serpent, and put it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live". And it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man when he beheld the serpent of brass he lived. Notice God made the provision for everyone. Now let's come up to the new testament and again Acts 10:38, how Jesus healed all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus never turned anyone away that came to him for healing. Not one time did he say no it's not God's will, that let's me know that it was always God's will for people to be healed and it's still his will. I wanted to get those things cleared up because there may have been some wrong thinking in those areas and John in 3John 2 makes this statement, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." So, your thinking can effect you receiving your healing. So, I just wanted to clear up some thinking that may not have been in line with the scriptures so that someone would be in a better position to receive their healing.
You believe that cancer comes from satan?
Evidently you forgot to inform God about your “health & wealth gospel”. I Cor. 11:30 lets it be known that those who mockingly party while remembering Jesus’ sacrifice may be weakened, made sick, or killed. I assume that Paul is referring to God bringing this about insofar as he calls it “judgment”.
What about Paul’s thorn in the flesh? He prayed three times to be delivered, but it wasn’t God’s will to do so. Or did Paul just not know the secret words?
i have been having some very difficult discussions with God such as:
You created this world and You also created satan knowing he was going to turn against You and wreak havoc in Heaven?
You created Man and put him here in satan’s jurisdiction knowing satan would torture and torment your creation whom you claim to love?
Why? How does this help your plan? Why do good people pray for years and why are you hiding from them? Why do the the evil prosper?
Job?
IMHO, God's desire is to build character in humans. He can't do that without an obstacle course.
Evil exists because evil exists. God didn't set out to create a fairy tail. He created reality...and in that reality, evil exists and strength to overcome that evil exists.
God is the ultimate purveyor of tough love (that is the only kind of love that endures).
I think you are raising some interesting issues.
God's love is healing. Humans are trapped in disbelief but He is calling us to Himself and His Spirit...which is miraculous and powerfully healing.
In fact, God is so healing, we come to a point of interaction with Him that we don't even care if our human bodies are healed...because our eternal bodies (our spirits) are healed.
God isn't raising up sissies. He is like the Marine Corp or the Navy SEALs...he is making us Godly men and women...and that means being tough but loving.
He is raising us up in faith...not coddling us into permanent puppy/kittenhood.
Where do you think cancer comes from?
i can help, i ponder the same.
1. God knew that to have true fellowship with creation like Himself - as persons, it had to have free will to genuinely choose to be with or reject, God. otherwise it’s not real.
2. giving someone the capacity to disobey, doesn’t mean you are responsible for their disobedience.
3. satan didn’t have jurisdiction until man fell.
4. satan is limited in what he can do. our current lives are a lot better than what we have earned. not only do we live under grace - God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense, we don’t suffer nearly as much as we deserve to.
5. as far as your plan questions are, ask why God would separate part of Himself and put all the punishment for sin every person ever did onto His son, for all sinful people, when not all people would decide to accept His sacrifice? the sins of billions of people and the associated punishment for trillions of sins. look at it from God’s perspective. consider the suffering put onto Christ in a few hours, trillions of sins.
the fact is for genuine fellowship and love, God had to create creation with free will, and this means the real ability to disobey and say no.
Nice!
But your comments describe the arguments of atheism.
As an atheist, how can you be having discussions with God?
Others have given you very good responses, but here’s my two cents.
We can’t blame God for mankind’s rebellion and fall; it was never His intention for us to suffer. But He made us, knowing we’d rebel, just as we have children, guessing they will one day do the same to one extent or another. He wanted someone in His own image to love and receive love from. Our relation to Him is unique and special; something even the angels don’t share.
I promise you He isn’t hiding from us. To the contrary-—He stepped right into the middle of us, in the person of Jesus Christ, and performed the ultimate act of love and sacrifice for us. Even when you can’t feel Him there, He never leaves you. And I can tell you there are so many tough life circumstances where leaning on Him is the deciding factor in making it through.
Ultimately, we can’t answer every question to our satisfaction....sometimes we just have to trust Him and have faith. His ways, after all, are so far above ours, and we can’t see His plan....not now, anyway. But keep talking to Him and asking Him to show you the truth. He will.
God bless.
Well, maybe he isn't...we all came toward God from somewhere...we all had questions.
This is yldstrk's somewhere...these are his questions.

In addition to answers already rpovided:
What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known gthe riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he hhas prepared beforehand for glory even us whom he ihas called, jnot from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? Rom 9:22-24 (ESV)
Some reasons for the existence of sin:
1. So God can demonstrate His perfect mercy and forgiveness
2. So God can demonstrate His power and justice
3. So those who receive forgiveness will appreciate it (by knowing what they escaped from)
Difficult questions, and not to be ignored. I wish you well, yldstrk.
To speak of “God hiding from man” might come from the mind or it might come from the heart.
Maybe yldstrk’s questions come from knowing that in the end, none of us can hide from God.
I still have a problem with the idea that Satan had Free Will.
I thought that gift was granted to man alone, who God made in his image.
Our prayers are with you. And our experience tells us that He will answer your prayers. Listen for Him...take some long isolated walks...He is always there!
Love cannot be demanded...it must be given freely. And accordingly, the option of NOT loving must also exist.
And that is the point at which hatred, and anger, and evil is born...and indeed needed.
I can expand on this topic needlessly. Let me know if I need to.
