"No one cares what a Catholic belief is as long as we have the bible to set things straight..."

There are over a billion that care because the Bible and catholic teaching are one.

Between the resurrection and the Ascension Jesus commanded the Apostles to teach all nations all that He had taught them. He told them that He would send a helper (the Paraclete) and that He would be with them all days until the end of the age. It is preposterous to conclude that this commission would be fulfilled by the Apostles writing the New Testament. It is even more preposterous to believe that only four of the Apostles had obeyed God and not a single written word from the others.

It is absolutely bizarre to presume that the Church Jesus founded would have been a teaching Church for it's first fifty years and then only a librarian until the Paraousia. Over centuries and generations languages and circumstances change and someone must answer when every person who truly seeks to know the Word inevitably asks; "What did Jesus mean?".

As we see every day in this forum there was not a word uttered by Christ that has not been met with a great number of diverse interpretations, some intelligent and some extremely attractive, but contradicting each other. How are we to know without a teacher? Even the most ardent Sola Scriptura proponent will concede that they required teacher to teach them to speak a language and a teacher to teach them to read as a prerequisite to encountering the Word.

Peace be with you.

I agree!

So NOW is the chance to show EXACTLY what ROME thinks these very words of JESUS mean as well as the verification of them by John:

John 6:28-29

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

1 John 3:21-24

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

Such as? If there are so many examples, perhaps you could give us one or two.

People led by the Holy Spirit are taught by Him.

And how do we know any one *teacher* is correct? What if HE'S wrong?

Working on the assumption that any teacher of Scripture is any more likely to be right than the student is a recipe for deception and disaster. Paul warned us plenty about false teachers.

It is absolutely bizarre to presume evil wasn't since the beginning and satan 'used' his words to oppose what God said. And then sin entered in because they believed 'another' - and then The Word came in the flesh.

Then JESUS started HIS Church based on HIS WORD because Jesus is The Word and gave His Church His Spirit as Teacher, lest they be deceived by 'man'. So then the counterfeit wanting to keep his hold on people, he used 'man made words' to 'organize' his counterfeit churches and he has many and they all claim 'they' are the one that is true. So there are many flavors to please man.

GOD'S WORD is the FINAL Authority and JESUS is The Way, The Truth, The LIFE and no one goes to The Father except through Jesus The Word. 'Man made teaching' believers, man brings them to their father of darkness and death.

There are over a billion that care because the Bible and catholic teaching are one.

There's the first and very large error right there...That statement couldn't be further from the truth...

Do you have any idea who Jesus was speaking to??? Jesus was speaking to apostles and disciples...No one denies that the disciples would preach what the apostles wrote to the end of the age...But, they were only to preach what was written...

What's the end of the age...You guys don't have a clue what the 'age' is let alone knowing when it will end...The 'age' could have ended before the church even got off the ground had the Jews accepted Jesus as their Messiah...The 'age' had the potential to end while all the apostles were still alive...

It is even more preposterous to believe that only four of the Apostles had obeyed God and not a single written word from the others.

How could it be preposterous when that's exactly what happened...And from what we do have, we know that it was/is sufficient enough that we can learn everything we need to know to get to heaven...Everything...Nothing else is needed...And anything different is a false gospel...

It is absolutely bizarre to presume that the Church Jesus founded would have been a teaching Church for it's first fifty years and then only a librarian until the Paraousia.

Now there you go with that pagan philosophy...You lost me there...The church still teaches but it only teaches what was written in the first Century...There is nothing more to need or to know...

Over centuries and generations languages and circumstances change and someone must answer when every person who truly seeks to know the Word inevitably asks; "What did Jesus mean?".

Jesus never changes nor does his written word... Bible translators don't bother with questions like, what did Jesus mean...They just translate the words...

But I have asked that question many times...And it will likely shock you to know where Christians get their answers...

1Jn 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Are you promised eternal life??? I am...

1Jn 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

And how do we know the the 'Godly' man is teaching us correctly??? Just blindly follow a priest or a minister??? Nope...

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Can your religion prove that anything came from God outside of scripture??? Absolutely not...

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

and search the scriptures, as the Bereans taught us...

Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Think you have eternal life, or not??? Don't bother with a pagan religion...SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES...Is the fella telling you the truth??? SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES...

As we see every day in this forum there was not a word uttered by Christ that has not been met with a great number of diverse interpretations, some intelligent and some extremely attractive, but contradicting each other. How are we to know without a teacher?

You can't trust any human teacher...You can only trust the Holy Spirit and put him to the test of scripture...

Even the most ardent Sola Scriptura proponent will concede that they required teacher to teach them to speak a language and a teacher to teach them to read as a prerequisite to encountering the Word.

Of course people need teachers...But when we are learning the words of God, we listen to preachers and teachers AND THEN go to the book that contains every thing we need to learn to gain salvation...The word of God...
