Hebrews 11:39 is speaking about those who lived by faith before the Spirit (promise) was poured out on all mankind. So, what you call a “theory” holds up just fine (and always will).
And, 1 Corinthians 11:1 is dealing with sanctification, not justification—again, another difficult concept for HRMers.
