My brother-in-law is a true biblical scholar. He can quote chapter and verse. My wife and I are both Catholic and as such we get most of our exposure to the Bible through the Epistles and the Gospels at Mass. Brother-in-law and I were watching my photos on our TV. It stopped on a shot of Victoria Falls. My Mother-in-Law asked where that was. I told her and then commented that they were formed millions of years ago on the Zambezi River. My BIL made a buzzer-like sound, indicating that I was all wet as the world is only 6000 years old. That was the first I’d ever heard of that, and I’d been going to Mass for about 50 years. I told BIL that I’d had a year of geology in college and the professor said the world was 3.5 billion years old. He scoffed at that. I still don’t know where that appears in the Bible.

That comes from counting backwards on the dates in the Bible. If you do that you get about 6,000 years to the creation of Adam.
