With Ninja angels in ancient Sodom, the highly publicized TV miniseries "The Bible," which made its national debut Sunday night on the History Channel, does not always stick to Scripture, despite being produced by two famous Christians and having numerous biblical experts as well as Texas megapastor Joel Osteen advising on the project.

I agree completely. Wasn’t The Lord more upset with the yokes of the self- appointed Sadducees and Pharisees placed upon the people. The nit- picky rules they derived simply to be self- righteous. In essentials unity, in non essentials liberty. I must work on every other Saturday and Sunday, these folks would deem me unfit for “their society”. Don’t worry about the cleanliness of the cup folks, worry more about the cleanliness of your soul. God Save us, if we are upset about the color of an actor or any other detail. The important thing is The Message, The Truth. /rant Love the Series! I plan on buying at least four copies, this is as good as the Ten Commandments. Powerful stuff.
You have to understand, we are talking about the word of God. This is what our faith is based on.
Did this show change any of that?
It will do just the opposite. It reveals that those who claim to be Christians and believe the Bible do not think the stories are good enough and need embellishing.
Many outright falsehoods are included. What would those outside of Christianity think of this?

for those that say they do not like it the ratings are beating every network for that time slot it seems some really like it..BTW CBS,ABC,NBC,etc would not show this it took a while to get this on and History channel is the one that is showing it..The reason the Obama networks would not show this is because it was about Christ..If it had of been about Mohammad they would have fought to show it.. I have taped the first shows and will tape the last this week..Then I will enjoy it..
I agree with you!
Casting a Caucasian to play a Semite = not a problem.
Casting an Asian to play a celestial being = omg! Ninja angel! Cuz all Asians be ninjas!
Casting an AfricanAmerican as a Semite = a dealbreaker for some.
Casting a dark Arab as Satan = LOLZ. He looked like Obama.
The Ethiopian in the NT? Did he exist or was the writer simply being PC?

God gets to pick the costumes for the angels ~

LOL! Since when is Osteen biblical?
Agreed. My wife and I are enjoying it. And whether some like it or not, there are different translations and many disagreements on many aspects of the Bible. That doesn’t make it non-Christian.
We are uplifted when we watch it. It’s fun and entertaining.
Good grief.
Exactly. And I have to go on record that I LOVED the new Star Trek.
Well.....they got Satan right!
On these forums posters beat on the news media for deliberately distorting the truth so why do the producers of some twisted rendition of the Scriptures deserve a break?
These are probably the same people who HATED the “Lord of the Rings” movies b/c they didn’t have Bombadil or all of the songs.
“Die Heretic Scum!”
LOL!
I think they should try to do everything as accurately as possible.
Semites are Caucasian. I am amazed that you didn’t know that.
King David supposedly had red hair. He is described as having a ruddy complexion.
I don’t care who they used to portray angels.
