With Ninja angels in ancient Sodom, the highly publicized TV miniseries "The Bible," which made its national debut Sunday night on the History Channel, does not always stick to Scripture, despite being produced by two famous Christians and having numerous biblical experts as well as Texas megapastor Joel Osteen advising on the project.

Yep... in the secular world... it’s called the “jewfro.” See Shia LeBeuof...
The original tongue spoken on board Noah’s ark was, of course, Elizabethan English........ (tongue in cheek)>
Yeah, Weiner is an example. Why is the Sunday School song of “Jesus loves the little children” removed by moderator? Is that a bad song? Seriously, was I taught wrong?
All modern Egyptians are pretty dark.
I prefer to stick with Bible accuracy instead of casting a character based on someone’s agenda-driven flight of fancy that he COULD have been this or that....again, based on nothing but politically correct pandering. I’m a conservative....diversity for diversity’s sake means absolutely nothing to me.
You may differ. If that’s your thing, fine, but don’t get in a huff when others point it out.
If I’m in a huff — and I might be — it’s not about having things pointed out. It’s about the picayunish rejecting the good because the perfect wasn’t offered.
Autumnraine, thank you....apology gladly accepted. :)
My problem is that the Bible and the people in it-—as they truly were-—should be good enough. If we need to shuffle around their race or whatever for the sake of “diversity”, we’re changing it to suit modern tastes, and I don’t like it. That’s the same thing radical black leftists do when they try to claim Jesus was black.
And, as I said in earlier posts, Roma Downey’s love for Obama goes hand in hand with the diversity stuff.
God bless
I questioned some scenes too. I got my bible and was able to follow along. Found that the show was accurate. I teach adult Sunday School but am still learning all the time.
By following the Holy Bible as I watched the show I learned it is being portrayed as it is written in the scriptures.
I get that, and Roma Downey should be shown for her love of a non-loving Christian AKA Barack Obama.
I guess I just think that we can’t pigeon hole the Bible to one race, even though most took place in that one region.
However, if we wish to win the souls of the world, reality says that we have to reach out to them. Who is to say that an Angel wasn’t Asian, or black or whatever. We can’t, we weren’t there. And if the Bible didn’t point it out specifically, we can’t dispute it. That’s what bothers me. No one is upset that Jesus was blue eyed and light haired, but good God at the people upset at a “ninja” Angel!
“Thats like hating the new Star Trek because they changed things up a bit.”
You’re comparing a science fiction series with the Bible, a Holy book literally warns people against adding or taking away from the word of God at penalty of everlasting hellfire.
My bad.
That isnt the point Miss PC....as usual
It is that they are purposely lying about historical identities in the Bible to suit kool aid slurpers such as yourself
If you must have Chinese angels then what about white Mandingo or Genghis Khan portrayed by Justin Timberlake
I mean why not in your make believe to please world
Lets make slaves on plantations white and slave masters black
Better yet.... Lincoln portrayed by Samuel Jackson
Rosa Parks by Blake Lively
Damn its fun being insane with political correctness
Lets be sure and make everyone homosexual too.....lets see....Paul andl Timothy will be the first victims to that altar obviously
Faith by a thousand platitudes and canards.....is that how you live dear?
Abraham was essentially mesopotamian....
Semitic peoples became more swarthy with the Arab conquests
Phonecians and other Med peoples were more European looking then than now
There were no tropical Negroes in the Bible i know of and no Rus type folks either
Nor Orientals....like Japs or Koreans....nor Amerindians or early Britons though i know Joseph of Arithimea had contact with Pax Romana Britons
The darkest historical Biblical folks were Hamitic peoples...i guess the Falasha connection
Similar to modern day Eritreans...i think
Narrow nose thin lips thick straight to curly hair thin build bronzed peoples
Almost Berberish
Alas....Berber peoples not too far back were much fairer
As for pre Abraham...who knows...many folks see Tarim Basin as earliest white man
Jury still out
I don't think all humans started same spot
That comes from counting backwards on the dates in the Bible. If you do that you get about 6,000 years to the creation of Adam.
That’s ridiculous. A film adaptation doesn’t equate to the actual Bible, and if you think it does then you’re the one with a problem. Nevermind that, according to that definition, EVERY SINGLE BIBLICAL FILM EVER MADE is a bad thing, because they ALL leave something out. I have yet to see the movie or tv show which included every single word of the Bible.
That’s a really sad fact. Still bothered me seeing Africans cast as Israelite.
precisely. I have no problem with angels being played by Asians, or Negros, or dwarfs for that matter. But Sampson was an Israelite, and not a Negro. Even that isn’t that troublesome-— it’s the p.c. propaganda element that makes me barf.

I was talking about his comparison of a sci-fi series to a “changed up” movie that claims to be Biblical, with experts and everything.
Besides, leaving stuff out to make a film, is different than adding Angel Ninjas, downplaying repentance, sin, and other important issues, just so they can add in more funky stuff.
