Vice President Joe Biden, Minority leader Nancy Pelosi, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia will represent the United States at the Mass of Inauguration for Pope Francis on March 19th, according to the Daily Caller.
I sincerely hope Pope Francis denies Communion to Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. Not because Im a jerk, but because its for their own good.
In order to receive Communion worthily you must 1) be in a state of grace 2) have made a good confession since your last mortal sin 3) believe in transubstantiation 4) observe the Eucharistic fast and 5) not be under an ecclesiastical censure such as excommunication.

Why didn’t he just send Sandra Fluke with them and complete the picture...?
Francis may or may not know who these two are and they may or may not receive the Eucharist. Be assured that God knows....and that is all that matters...
Biden and Pelosi are either ignorant, possessed or both....we should pray for their conversion and the conversion of all.
I find it a little hard to believe that a Pope wouldn’t know who is second in line to the most powerful man on earth, or who the previous Speaker of the House (3rd in line is, especially when they are representing the United States of America and are coming to him.
Nope, anyone that left finger prints on the article if death, never deserve a seat at the same table with those who affirm life.
The last laugh is on the Catholic Church.
What are the odds Biden will say something stupid?
according to whom?
Yeah but you'd lose the chance to create scandal.
I have a question for you or any of the orthodox Catholics here. Since these dissidents (sorry, I have trouble calling them Catholics) are officially representing the US government on this trip, does Cardinal Wuerl, as abp of Washington DC, have the authority to instruct them not to present themselves for Holy Communion? Or does this request have to come from the politicians' home dioceses?
Sorry, I guess more than one question. If it must come from their home diocese, then do any of the cardinals present in Rome have authority over Biden or Pelosi's home bishop and therefore have the authority to instruct them not to present themselves for communion?
The potential for scandal is so very apparent. And the powers that be are concentrated where the dissidents will be. Is there nothing that can be done to address this before the installation Mass?
I'd love to hear our new Holy Father look over to the assembled political delegates and instruct them himself. But it seems, well, not right that it'd have to come to that when all the cardinals are there and will surely be meeting with the US delegates at some point anyway. I seem to remember that at John Paul's funeral the cardinals actually escorted the delegates to their seats. How scandalous if they do that without instructing them to STAY in their seats during communion!
I’m pretty sure there’s no line on sure things.
No Communion for you two!
Sending the House minority leader is odd. It’s purpose is to insult.
Pelosi would be formally excommunicated by her Bishop in CA. and likewise for Biden in his diocese.
But the have excommunicated themselves by supporting pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia votes.
Have you read the articles about Roberts being blackmailed by Obama?
What it is, imho, is barry attempting to soothe all the other CINO’s who voted for his sad behind. As well as taunting the new pope. I can’t write what I wish for here in public.
*my ‘p’ key is busted, can’t capitalize it for his Holiness.
We’ll see. Either way, it will be very telling.
According to Pelosi and Biden, of course. Their very presence at this event is a protest against the churches doctrine. These two are being sent as the US Catholic emissaries? They vehemently and openly support gay marriage and the murder of babies and the church has yet to condemn them? They will set an example, receive communion and be on their way.
Thanks for the fast reply. I understand the self-excommunication thing. That hasn’t stopped Biden or Pelosi from presenting themselves anyway. I’m wondering if anyone in Rome (other than Francis) has authority to tell them to stay in their seats or if only their home diocesan bishops have authority to tell them not to present themselves for communion at the installation Mass.
