Yeah- I guess so. Ceremony can be beautiful. BUT when men create a ceremony and assign it to God, when God did not create it.. the ceremony becomes offensive.

That is the lesson of the Bible.

They can have their organization, sure- and all the ceremony they want-but it isn’t about God.

The Catholics I know are making jokes about this- and talking about drinking games..

I think that in this smokey thing, it is sad- that there is no reference, reverence or love for our Lord, Jesus the Christ- who died for us.

In Exodus the children of God followed the Holy Spirit, a pillar of smoke- so this idea of man made smoke , to communicate a man made decision, is blasphemous to me.

It’s “blasphemous” to use smoke signals to covey information?

Ponderous man, just ponderous....< shakes his head in disbelief > ...and here I thought I’d heard it all when it comes to criticism of the Catholic Church.

So, how is the leadership of your church chosen? Every non-Catholic Christian denomination uses some sort of committee to determine who their Pastor will be.

Denominations, such as Baptists, vote also, on who their leadership will be.

So..., Roman Catholics vote on who its leader will be, and use smoke to communicate that a leader has been chosen.

What does picking leadership have to do with blasphemy?

Again, I don’t see how you are connecting the two.

I understand your opinion. I’m a believer in hypocrisy myself. It’s the next best thing to authenticity.
