THE IDEA OF A POPE IS BASED ON A FALSE INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE, THAT JESUS WANTED TO BUILD HIS CHURCH ON PETER, INSTEAD OF HIMSELF. WHY WOULD JESUS BUILD HIS CHURCH ON A SINFUL MAN?
(Excerpt) Read more at calthomas.com ...
It would seem that Mr. Thomas has never read, reflected or meditated at length upon St. Paul's (biblical truth) ... in Colossians 1:24
Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church ...
Quakers don’t use all caps.
Your legitimate point of view is in conflict with every Church leader prior to the 1500s. Good luck with that.
I think it was more of a hit at the press.. Press is only Talking only about sex scandals and not the fact their are differences between christians on doctrine that are being debated..Press sort of lumps all christians together and ignores what makes us different..
Why should I ask my cousin to pray to Christ with me for my mother-in-law when I could pray to Christ directly?
I do both. Don’t you? Mary’s a fellow believer in Christ. Indeed, she was the first to believe in Christ. She’s the first Christian. And she never stopped being a fellow-Christian.
Would you join with me in praying for my former student who’s having trouble getting a job. His name is John Paul. (No, he was not named after the pope.)
Thank you. Your and Mary’s prayers will help. Now I’m sure he’ll get a job.
Why did those people at Cana talk to Mary at all?
HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!! You are FUNNY!!!
Cal Thomas has gone off the rails several times in the last month or so. Looks to me like he’s getting senile. Used to be a decent Protestant Evangelical/Reformed commentator.
You’re funny.
To prevent duplication, please do not alter the published headline, thx.
Evangelical Quakers do. And so does the Quaker peacenik fringe. Bu5t no, moderate Quakers don’t, just like moderate Muslims don’t.
Mary is the new Eve, she is the Ark of the Covenant. Do you really think that God, The Almighty, the Holy of Holies, the Great I Am, would allow Himself to be born of a sinful woman? Do you not see the folly in this type of thinking?
Even His commandments were placed in a golden ark made to the Lord’s specifications. The Son of God could only be conceived in someone pure and sinless.
You are correct. I double checked my oatmeal container to fact check your statement.
That's a bizarre response.
What is your position on kayaking? Or stamp collecting?
Since the Bible mentions neither of those activities, presumably they're forbidden as well?
But hey - if this traditional dogma
Clearly you do not know what the word "dogma" means.
Putting that aside, signalling a "yes" or a "non" using colored smoke doesn't make anyone feel holy. It makes them feel informed.
That is correct. Thank you!
I think of it to use an IT term, a form of “Load Balancing”.
“The only sinless person born was Mary, the mother of Jesus”
Huh? Then why could not she have borne our sins at the cross? What need was there for the Holy Child if we already had one without sin? Only 2 have been born free of sin: Adam and Christ; hence Scriptures’ references to Christ as the Second Adam. The first Adam, through disobedience, brought the stain of sin upon all humanity and Christ (the Second Adam) through obedience, broke the power of sin over mankind.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why Protestants can't see the simple basis behind this. It seems thick to me.
On point one... the Bible is a product of our tradition. Without the Catholic Church and her traditions you would not have a canon of scripture.
On point two... please review John 3:16 and see tag line.
Well he can express his opinion of course, it just seems rude to me. Is he really still fighting the reformation? And I’m really missing something here because didn’t Christ say to Peter “You are my rock, and upon this rock I will build my Church”? I’m sure one can argue about interpretation but with Islam rising is this really the fight anyone needs?
I recall a Jewish professor saying to me that if Christ appeared in the Holy Land and saw the mosque, church and synagogue, he is going in the synagogue. I’m hard pressed to disagree based on Christ’s life as a Jew. Now what he will say in there is another matter.
