Tin foil hat alert, ping!
I resent being accused of not being a “true” Christian.
This is a harsh and unnecessarily divisive posting.
Is it just me or does this headline come across as rather arrogant? I consider myself a true Christian and I don't follow the pope.

How many follow the Pope?
The word “Pope” appears exactly zero times in the Bible. Just sayin’.
Whe the Apostle Peter comes back to Earth I’ll acknowledge him as Pope. Until then no man is “infallible” on any subject imaginable.
Period.
Same old, same old. This has been discussed many times before. It gets old debunking it so I’ll just join the popcorn section and let somebody else reply if they care to do so.

I am a christian, and I don’t follow the Pope, or believe the Pope has any special place in Heaven or on Earth.
A> Elevating of a “POPE” is against the 2nd Commandment.
B> Salvation is by faith that Jesus was sent to be our Savior from our sins and if believe this, we are saved.
Following a “POPE” does not help our Salvation.
C> The Bible says that we are all equal. So, we don’t need Popes or Cardinals to worship and kiss.
D> The thief on the cross was not a Catholic. Yet Jesus said he was going to Paradise.
E> Job was not Catholic yet he said he would see the Redeemer in the flesh one day.
F> Jesus was not Catholic yet he was perfect.
One might think that inlight of the sick and twisted sexual scandals that were/are widespread in this same church - and that its leaders covered them up while further endangering children...
...and the current widespread (apparently) homosexual problems just revealed - that some now believe may be a large reason your current pope is resigning...
That you’d take time to clean house before you castigate Christians who trust and follow The Lord and Savior of all Christians.

The priests in the Vatican do not even follow the pope. So many of them are off in their cross-dressing gay bars. The POPE does not even follow the pope! He quit. I’ll follow Jesus, thank you very much.
Wow, what a telling headline.

Tripe...
The church was not built on Peter, the church was built on Yashua, Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God...In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God...
In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. In him was life: and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness: and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
(John 1:1-6 DRB)
A man sent form God...John, not Peter...
12 What I mean is this: One of you says, I follow Paul; another, I follow Apollos; another, I follow Peter; still another, I follow Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Peter or the world or life or death or the present or the futureall are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
Paul Opposes Cephas
11 When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
15 We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[d] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
17 But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesnt that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.
19 For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing![e]
