As a non Catholic, I agree with you. We should be applauding the church’s stance on this issue and understand that an attack on one who opposes gay marriage is an attack on us all who believe in the sanctity and dignity of traditional marriage (one man, one woman united with God’s blessing.)
I for one believe the gay agenda and its supporters aren’t content with corrupting the word marriage, they’re out to destroy Christianity. The proof in my accusation is in their refusal to accept gay unions, insisting on using the word marriage. If a civil union and a traditional marriage were afforded the same legal rights, they’d still insist on calling their relationships as “marriage.” That’s proof they’re out attacking traditional Biblical marriage.
We have seen aspects of this same sort of mental aberration with other subjects. But you are correct in understanding that the advocates of the same-sex marriage fantasy, are perfectly happy with the idea of destroying traditional Faith based concepts, to vindicate their own perverse perspective.
Since most people blanch at the idea of confronting hate spewing fanatics, they intimidate a great many of our neighbors, who should know better. As the saying used to be, all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
