The Cult has started a new ad campaign in New York [Where the Mormon tithe & temple fits in]

How about being straight up and saying that Mormons put on costumes and chant rituals in secret buildings that only 10% of gross earnings paid as "tithes" allow entrance?

Mormonism wants people to think they are normal that they are just Christians like everyone else. Each year they get rid of more and more of their embarrassing doctrines - or doctrines that aren't politically correct anymore. Apologist attack dogs fight any critics on technicalities.

Mormonism has one thing that works for them - and that is the funneling of cash from members to the Cult coffers. This is done through mandatory tithe. And in order to make this tithe work - and make the member believe in the Cult enough to pay - they have to have the secret temple ceremonies. You have to put a ton of make believe in there.

Stephen R. Donaldson is one of my favorite authors. In one of his series of books he explained how a great and noble group of leaders were slowly corrupted through the centuries by simple infiltration of ideas. The ideas changed the group slowly until they went from helping people to human sacrifices. The new leaders of the group knew what was going on - but they surrounded themselves with those who only had faith - not knowledge. Those who had faith were much stronger because they were driven by the new cult. Those who held faith were much easier to control.

Pondering the story Donaldson had written I saw the same manifested in the Cult of Mormonism. If you have members who are so convinced you are the one and only true Cult, they will not hesitate to open their pocketbooks and hand over everything. Mormonism needs this kind of special, secret, garment wearing, new name, pay lay ale - in order to keep the tithes flowing. If the cat is out of the bag, the tithing will stop.

So the reality is there is a certain point where Mormonism must stop moving towards Christianity - it has to because money is ultimately the top priority of the Cult. Money - Power - Control.

Look at all the recovery boards right now - even the NOM boards. What is the #1 topic right now because of upcoming December? Tithing. Tithing. Tithing. Oh and don't forget tithing. Sign up for tithing settlement. And don't forget to sign up for tithing settlement.

“All of our messaging is focused on helping people understand that Mormons are Christian,”

Naw, Mormonism isn't a Christian church. It's a secretive Cult with very cultish practices and it has to stay that way - or go broke.

Bruce McConkie
“Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers.” (Mormon Doctrine, 1979, pages 546-47)

The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and blood—was begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers.” Brigham Young Journal of Discourses, vol. 8, p. 115

mormonISM has taught and still teaches intercourse between the lds god and Mary. Not really sure why lds members choose not to believe their own prophets/leaders.

And let us note that McCronkie was a full fledged “Prophet” of the LDS, and was contemporary and active until 1985. So the “It was a long time ago” expiration date (yes "Prophets" seem to have those in the LDS) does not come into play...

“when we put words in the mouth of another Freeper he has an interest in speaking for himself.”

Kind of hard to do when you’ve been zotted/banned. You gave the anti Mormon/anti MormonISM crowd free reign to attack us personally and collectively without our being able to respond. It was hard to sit back and not be able to defend our faith and our heretofore good names. I had been freeping since 1998, right along side Jim Robinson including on the front page of the LA Times (during Gary Condidit fiasco). BTW, I ran for Congress against Pete Stark for Goodness’ sake!!

Plus I disagree with you that Mormon freepers were using caucus etc as a ruse to attack opponents. Jesus Christ is our Savior, too.

Why is it so hard to allow Mormons to be Mormons on this site?

Prayer led me to Mormonism and has kept me here — most happily.

See my post #425. Looks like I’ll get banned again. Isn’t it obvious - Mormons are not welcome here. We are treated like crap. Not allowed to express a heart-felt opinion without the dog pile anti Mormons/anti MormonISM gang sweeping in to stifle free expression. All negative. Not sure why I bother except to try and make up for almost a year when I was not allowed to respond to all the attacks.

While I’m not a Mormon, I have to agree with you. To me, it appears that Mormonism runs second to Islam here on FR. In the end, the Catholics are OK, because they are considered Christians.

I am both intrigued and baffled by all the religion/belief conflicts here...that’s why I stay around.

Well Mormons were using their caucus to attack Christians and Christianity...

Christians were prevented from defending the faith...

What would you call that...

Trying to figure this out, you have been saying what you wanted for days and days, even though most of it is just complaining about FR, Religion Moderator and Jim Robinson and what they wont let you say.
So maybe you could tell us again what you want to say, but leave out the part where you just complain about FR, Religion Moderator and Jim Robinson.

Because the doctrine of the LDS is a direct assault on Christianity, and there are more than a few of us around who have not been bitten by the progressive/liberal "all paths are valid" Modern Christianity that dismisses the Bible to feel more "comfortable"...

Mormon missionaries are taught to use the following analogy when asked about mormon's disdain for the Cross.

"If my brother (because that is who they believe Christ is, nothing more than a brother) died in a car accident, I wouldn't wear a necklace with a crashed car emblem"

MORMONS, AS NON-CHRISTIANS, HISTORICALLY FIND THE CROSS OFFENSIVE.

They teach that salvation was won in the garden of Gethsemane, NOT AT THE CROSS.

I have heard them teach and say "Any man can die, the crucifixion of Christ was nothing special".

"You gave the anti Mormon/anti MormonISM crowd free reign to attack us personally and collectively without our being able to respond."

You respond plenty Saundra, the thing is you lost the debate. The problem is not that you aren't allowed to respond, it's that the cult of mormonism does not hold up under public scrutiny. You cannot defend a lie against the truth.

Because you cannot defend a lie against the truth, you moved to attacking the thruth bearers, and because you have not prevailed now you attack the venue ?

Pathetic. As pathetic as Joseph Smith and Warren Jeffs and Harry Reid and Mitt Romney.
