Judge sides with company on contraceptive coverage

A federal judge on Friday temporarily prevented the Obama administration from forcing a Christian publishing company to provide its employees with certain contraceptives under the new health care law.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton granted a preliminary injunction sought by Tyndale House Publishers, which doesn't want to provide employees with contraceptives that it equates with abortion.

At issue are contraceptives such as Plan B and IUDs. If a woman already is pregnant, the Plan B pill has no effect. It prevents ovulation or fertilization of an egg, and according to the medical definition, pregnancy doesn't begin until a fertilized egg implants itself into the wall of the uterus....

liar liar pants on fire

If a woman has not ovulated, the morning B pill will stop ovulation. That is why we use it if we see a woman within hours after a rape. But if you give it later, it will stop the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus, and if she is a few days pregnant, it will starve the growing fetus (actually at this stage an embryo) and cause an early abortion.

As for "medical definition": Actually until a few years ago, a pregnancy started with fertilization. The pro aborts in the OB GYN societies "changed" the definition, partly so that the 100 thousand fertilized eggs/early embryos sitting in fridges because they were left over from IVF ('test tube babies') wouldn't be called pregnancies...

It is immoral as far as Catholics are concern that any contraception is wrong. It violates the gift of life

“It prevents ovulation or fertilization of an egg”

Fertilization is sometimes used synonymously with impregnation, but its primary definition is spermatozoa and ovum cells meeting. So, no, it doesn’t prevent that. It doesn’t prevent ovulation, really, either. In fact women must ovulatr before conception can occur. What Plan B does is stop an ovulated and fertilized egg from sticking to a wall of the uterus.

The other poster did not accuse a Freeper of lying, unless the guy who wrote the article is a Freeper. There’s nothing wrong with accusing people of lying if you mean it.

My bad. The poster was addressing the article, not another Freeper individually.

They should not have to provide contraceptives even if it is not equated with abortion.
