I've been away for awhile, hence the late reply.
I asked a very simple but sincere question concerning something that I had heard, I wondered if someone could or would verify that Mormon women go to Heaven if their husbands call them there by their secret name.I received several replies from presumably, non Mormons and one lengthy reply from Saundra Duffy.
The non Mormons gave concise answers to my question while Saundra gave the following, addressing a mish-mash of things, none of which had anything at all to do with my question, here it is repeated in its entirety:
Im a Mormon woman and I havent a clue on earth what the anti Mormons/anti MormonISM folk on this site are talking about. Like Catholics, women do not hold the Priesthood in our Church. I have no desire to hold the Priesthood - too much work and responsibility. I have enough to do to work and fulfill my callings. By the way, there is no paid clergy in my Church.
My son bought one of their books that claimed Mormons are cultists. You can buy one, too, and hundreds of anti Mormon/anti MormonISM literature, etc. But the fact remains that Jesus died for Mormons, too. My son sees by my life that I am not a member of a cult. In fact, the very idea makes me laugh.
If you want to be a Priest, you can join the Anglican or Episcopalian Church. You can even be a gay or lesbian clergy in other churches. Whatever. Makes no difference to me. Remember, we Mormons stood side-by-side with Evangelicals and Catholics and Jews to protest abortion and gay marriage. It kind of hurt a little after we helped pass Prop 8 in CA when some of the other so-called Christians turned on us.
This morning in my Ward, a newly married couple gave talks. We take turns and no one gets paid. No passing of the plate! We tithe, yes, and I have no idea why that makes some people so darn mad; they see red!
We love our Savior Jesus Christ. He suffered and died for us all.
I have no idea why the anti Mormons on this site invest so much time and effort in trashing my Church. Oh, yes, I do; many of them depend on anti Mormon business - books, tapes, DVDs, speaking engagements, etc., to make their living.
Since none of that "victim" screed had anything to do with my question, I saw no need to respond.
In order for a mormon woman to go to mormon heaven they must be called by their husbands.
That is the primary reason in celestial polygamy, it covers non married mormon women, otherwise they would never make it to heaven.
All a husband has to do is call her unworthy, and tell her he wont call her name and she will lock step to his desires (whatever they maybe).
I have a cousin who was called unworthy, then taken to the bishop who called her unworthy - it did not end well, as they both told all her friends, family and co-workers that she was unworthy and she was a temple worker (the inner circle so to speak).
Needless to say she was devastated and driven into a deep depression (because she was shunned), as I said it did not end well for her.
Yes, being called by the husband is a big deal, which is why some times mormon wives are referred to stepford wives.
Typical politician talk...
"I glad you asked that question!"
Besides; it's TAUGHT in MORMON classrooms that you do NOT have to answer the question asked; but the one that SHOULD have been asked.
Uh, Resty; if you're out there - thanks again for giving me the COMPLETE video of Bob's remarks!
